After signing Cristiano Ronaldo (37), Al-Nassr needed to terminate the contract of one of their foreigners, and the choice was surprisingly Vincent Aboubakar (30).

According to Saudi league rules, clubs can only register eight foreign players in their teams and Al-Nassr already had the maximum number of foreign players allowed before signing Ronaldo, so a player had to leave to make room for him.

Now, according to RMC Sport, Aboubakar's contract with Al-Nassr has been terminated by mutual agreement. The player will receive compensation, as stated by a Saudi source to AFP, while Ronaldo will be registered and eligible to play for Al-Nassr.

However, the Portugal international still has to serve the ban imposed on him for hurling a 14-year-old's cell phone to the ground in November after the Everton vs Manchester United game.

Ronaldo has already missed the first game with Al-Nassr against Al-Ta'ee, and now he will miss the one against Al-Shabab next Saturday. He may finally make his debut with Al-Nassr on January 22nd, at home against Ettifaq.

Meanwhile, there has been talk of interest in Aboubakar from Manchester United, who scored 13 goals and provided six assists in 39 games for Al-Nassr.
