Patrick Mahomes threw the game-winning pass as the Kansas City Chiefs beat the San Francisco 49ers 25-22 in overtime to win Super Bowl LVIII - their second successive title. Recap the action below from Las Vegas below.

Check out the Super Bowl LVIII game summary with Flashscore.

Overtime: 49ers 22-25 Chiefs

The 49ers' possession ended with them having to settle for a field goal which Jake Moody converted, but allowed the Chiefs an opening to win it all on the next drive.

Things were on a knife edge when the Chiefs had to make one yard on their fourth down, but Patrick Mahomes was the coolest man in Las Vegas to drive and slide for a first.

And Mahomes would hold his nerve to pick out the final, game-winning pass to hit Mecole Hartman for the Super Bowl-winning touchdown.

Fourth quarter: 49ers 19-19 Chiefs

The 49ers started the final frame in perfect fashion with Jauan Jennings evading a couple of tackles to touch down and give his side the lead back.

However, Jake Moody saw his extra point attempt was blocked which kept the gap at three.

That missed kick would keep the Chiefs in field goal range, which they would take from 24 yards to level at 16 through the ever-reliable Harrison Butker.

But the 49ers would return the favour - Moody converting a high-pressure kick from 53 yards to put them 19-16 up.

And yet the Chiefs would hit back with another field goal of their own with Butker ending regulation and sending the game to overtime.

Third quarter: 49ers 10-13 Chiefs

A tough third for the 49ers started with some concern when Deebo Samuel went down with a non-contact injury and looked to be holding his hamstring before limping off. He would return, though.

That seemed to shift momentum and the Chiefs cut the 49ers' lead to four through Harrison Butker, who converted a record 57-yard field goal to beat Jake Moody's first-half 55-yarder.

And that would lead to a big turning point shortly after. A punt was fumbled by the 49ers' Ray-Ray McCloud, allowing Patrick Mahomes to find Marquez Valdes-Scantling for their first touchdown. It handed the Chiefs their first lead of the night at 13-10.

Second quarter: 49ers 10-3 Chiefs

The 49ers broke the ice with a 55-yard field goal from Jake Moody, which set a Super Bowl record for the longest attempt at 55 yards.

Their score was extended to 10-0 after a well-executed play which saw Brock Purdy move the ball to Jauan Jennings, who found a free Christian McCaffrey to drive to the end zone. Moody converted the extra point.

Harrison Butker placed in a 28-yard field goal before the break to put the Chiefs on the board.

First quarter: 49ers 0-0 Chiefs

Nothing doing in the first quarter in Las Vegas with defence coming out on top for both sides to ensure a scoreless game so far.

Brock Purdy began to find his range which will have given his 49ers plenty of confidence, but no breakthrough.
