Arsenal battled back against Chelsea to win the Continental League Cup on Sunday and end their four-year wait for a trophy.

The Gunners fell behind after just two minutes at Selhurst Park when Sam Kerr powered Chelsea ahead with a header.

However, the early goal would prove to be a wake-up call for Jonas Eidevall's side.

Swedish striker Stina Blackstenius brought Arsenal back on level terms with a composed finish before captain Kim Little dispatched a penalty to give the north London side the lead on 24 minutes.

The momentum continued with Arsenal heading towards the break and they extended their lead on the stroke of half-time after a corner came off Niamh Charles and into her own net.

Emma Hayes made a handful of alterations in an attempt to claw Chelsea back into proceedings but the Blues were unable to do so despite having the majority of the second-half play.

Victory for Arsenal sees boss Eidevall earn his first honour in charge of the club while the Gunners have ended a trophy drought lasting four years.
