Arsenal’s Europa League opponents Bodo/Glimt have made an usual request – for their fans to not wear Arsenal-branded clothing when they play on Thursday.

The Gunners travel to Norway for their Group A clash looking to seal qualification to the last 16, however Bodo/Glimt supporters have been warned against wearing Arsenal merchandise - including “scarves, caps, t-shirts, jackets” - as these items will be prohibited.

In a statement posted on their official website, the club acknowledges the many fans who hold both Arsenal and Bodo/Glimt "close to their heart" due to the support of Arsenal and Norway's 23-year-old captain Martin Odegaard, but insist any away colours will need to be in the away end.

"There are many Arsenal supporters in Norway and many have both Glimt and Arsenal close to their hearts. Therefore, we see it as appropriate to remind you that Arsenal effects are only allowed in the away end," the statement read.

"This means that we will ask you to remove scarves, caps, t-shirts, jackets etcetera if these have the Arsenal logo or similar on them.

"However, we make an exception for match scarves or half-and-half scarves as this has become a common thing in stadiums around the world. Half-and-half scarves are the only exception.

“There will be some areas [in the home sections] where Arsenal are entitled to tickets. In these areas, and for their guests, we will accept away team branding.”

Arsenal won the reverse fixture 3-0 last week with Odegaard appearing as a second-half substitute.
