Morocco have booked their place in the last 16 of the World Cup with a 2-1 win over Canada at the Al Thumama Stadium in Doha, Qatar, topping Group F in the process.

The Atlas Lions took the lead after just four minutes courtesy of a goalkeeping error from Milan Borjan, with  Hakim Ziyech lifting an effort into an empty net from range.

Morocco doubled their advantage through a collected finish from Youssef En-Nesyri, who latched onto an excellent pass from Achraf Hakimi.

Canada were handed a lifeline in the game when Nayef Aguerd turned a cross into his own goal, but were unable to find a leveller despite a spirited second half.
