Champions League: City target fourth win as Chelsea face Milan

City are aiming to maintain their perfect record so far
City are aiming to maintain their perfect record so farAFP
The halfway mark of the Champions League group stage has been reached and opportunities to gain points are starting to run out.

Points aren't an issue for Manchester City, though, with Pep Guardiola's (51) side simply dominating proceedings in Group G as many predicted.

City face a hop over to Denmark in matchday four to play FC Copenhagen, who are rooted to the bottom of the group with one point and no goals scored.

But there is still plenty to play for in Chelsea's case with the Blues involved in one of the tighter groups in the competition.

With a trip to AC Milan beckoning, Graham Potter will be hoping his team is able to escape the San Siro with some breathing room in Group E.

Here, Flashscore News looks over the Premier League pair's match-ups ahead of the latest round of Champions League fixtures.

FC Copenhagen vs Manchester City

In one of Tuesday's early evening kick-offs, City face Copenhagen knowing they can already secure their place in the Champions League knockout stage.

The Citizens require a win at the Parken Stadium and they will have confidence in achieving so after dispatching their hosts 5-0 in last week's reverse fixture.

The Erling Haaland (22) train continued to roll on as he scored in City's laid-back 4-0 win over Southampton and he will be looking to continue his hot form in Denmark.

With Haaland expected to lead the line as usual, Guardiola could use the fixture to rotate and rest some of his players with progression on the brink.

The outlook is much different for Copenhagen, though, as a 1-1 draw at home to Nordsjaelland extended their poor run of form in their defence of the Danish Superliga title.

The reigning champions sit sixth in the league and have tasted victory once in their last seven outings in all competitions, with the prospect of a positive result against City currently looking bleak.

AC Milan vs Chelsea

Chelsea's mixed first half of Group E has seen them become embroiled in a competitive battle for places.

Just two points seperate themselves, RB Salzburg, Milan and Dinamo Zagreb, and a meeting with the Italian side could be key in defining their position.

But Chelsea will have confidence as they embark on a trip to the iconic San Siro having remained unbeaten with three wins and a draw since Potter was hired as manager.

The Blues beat the Rossoneri convincingly 3-0 at Stamford Bridge last week and followed up that showing with the same result against Wolves on Saturday.

Milan, who are currently sitting in third on four points level with Chelsea, recovered from that disappointing display in west London with a hard-fought 2-0 win over Juventus.

Former Chelsea defender Fikayo Tomori (24) tallied for the Serie A side, who will be looking to also get back to winning ways on the European stage.

The Juventus encounter also saw Milan welcome back Theo Hernandez (25) to contention, with the French left-back now expected to push for another starting berth against Chelsea.
