We are now at the business end of the Champions League group stage and there are now some opportunities for teams to secure their place in the knockout round.

Chelsea are one of the sides that can do so with a win on their trip to RB Salzburg, although the state of play in Group E still remains tight.

Manchester City, meanwhile, have already secured their place in the next phase but their focus will now be on wrapping up top spot in Group G.

Here, Flashscore previews both sides’ upcoming fixtures on matchday five of the Champions League.

RB Salzburg vs Chelsea

Chelsea’s lengthy run of clean sheets under manager Graham Potter came to an end on Sunday when Manchester United tallied a stoppage-time equaliser in the Premier League.

The manner in which the result came will have felt like a defeat for the Blues, but they will need to dust themselves down with a key match-up against RB Salzburg approaching.

Recording two consecutive victories over AC Milan has put Chelsea in a strong position atop Group E, although qualification into the knockout stage is still not a guarantee.

Salzburg are sitting just one point behind in second place having remained unbeaten with three draws and one win, which came against Dinamo Zagreb.

The Austrian Bundesliga table-toppers are also yet to lose a single game at home this season, so Chelsea will be well aware of the difficulty this fixture poses.

Borussia Dortmund vs Manchester City

The story for Man City is much simpler having wrapped up their place in the knockout stages with two games to spare.

Pep Guardiola’s side will not want to ease up totally, however, knowing at least a draw on their trip to Borussia Dortmund will secure them top spot in Group G.

The match will see City hitman Erling Haaland (22) return to face his old team and he will want to repeat his heroics from the 2-1 win in the reverse fixture to add to his 22-goal season total.

City will be aware of the threats Dortmund pose, though, with England star Jude Bellingham (19) one of their top performers so far this term.

The BVB are currently second in the group with a five-point cushion on the chasing Sevilla and Copenhagen and can book their place in the last 16 with a draw.
