Champions League preview: Rangers host Liverpool, Tottenham v Frankfurt
The Reds have made their worst start to a season in a decade, finding themselves 10th in the Premier League and second in their Champions League group.
Jurgen Klopp's side are hampered by injuries going into Wednesday night's game, with Luis Diaz (25), Trent Alexander-Arnold (24), Joel Matip (31), Arthur Melo (26) and Naby Keita (27) all expected to be unavailable.
They also go into the game off the back of a disappointing 3-2 loss to Arsenal, which the manager is eager to bounce back from against Rangers.
"I can't promise we will fly tomorrow but we will fight," said Klopp.
"It didn't become easier since Sunday because of the injuries but the team I saw today in training I liked a lot. Let's give it a go."
Rangers are yet to win in the group stages, losing all three of their opening encounters.
Giovanni van Bronckhorst's side sit bottom of Group A, but will be looking to their famous Ibrox atmosphere to get a result against Liverpool.
"At Ibrox you have to get up against people, get the crowd up, get them going and try to instil a bit of fear in the opposition," said midfielder John Lundstrum (28).
"There's something special about Ibrox on European nights.
"As long as we're up against them and laying a glove on them, hopefully we can get something."
Napoli take on Ajax in the other Group A fixture.

Elsewhere, Spurs host Frankfurt in Group D, with a win potentially seeing them move to first in the standings.
That would depend on the result between Sporting and Marseille, with Antonio Conte's side needing the former to drop points.
Spurs have been without Swedish winger Dejan Kulusevski (22) since the north London derby in September, and it looks unlikely that he will be available on Wednesday night.
"I think Deki (Kulusevski) is almost ready. Yesterday he had an MRI and it was really, really positive but at the same time, I spoke to the doctors and they said tomorrow we can have 5 per cent of risk," Conte told reporters.
"I don't want to take a risk because Deki is an important player for us. It would be stupid. We need patience and we've faced this situation well without him. Against Everton I think he will be able to play."
The two sides drew 0-0 last time out in Germany, highlighting Spurs' struggles in front of goal in Europe.
The Premier League side have scored just two goals in three games, both of those coming against Marseille in the first round of fixtures.
