Chisnall claims fourth European Tour title with win over Humphries
Top seed Humphries had been looking to go all the way in the opening European Tour event of the year but was undone by Chisnall, who averaged 101.31 in the final.
"I've had a great tournament," said Chisnall afterwards. "Luke is phenomenal, so I'm glad to get a win over him.
"I'm playing good darts at the moment and hopefully it continues. I love playing in front of (German fans), they've been a great crowd and gave me so much respect."
Chisnall mounted a strong start to the match, taking the first three consecutive legs after pouncing on some wayward darts from Humphries.
The run would not last, though, with world number five Humphries upping the ante to break back and level the match on throw.
Both players held their throws over the next four legs before Chisnall struck in the 10th to lead.
The 42-year-old consolidated the break of throw by holding his own before Humphries put another leg on the board.
But it was not enough for the latter with Chisnall running away to win his first title of the season.
Chisnall endured a tough route towards winning the trophy, which included a scalp against Gerwyn Price in the third round.
He then took down German Martin Schindler before edging out Wales' Jonny Clayton 7-5 in a hectic semi-final to reach the last two.
