Dylan Slevin (88) 1-3 Florian Hempel (59)
Hempel started the match and had 94 left in a match that started somewhat sluggishly.
He went for double 18 and 20, but the latter went wrong. Slevin faced 74 and had one chance at tops, but missed wide.
Hempel did hit tops on the following turn and took the lead. Slevin had 44 left in his leg and wanted to go to tops, but threw a single 18 instead of 4. He finished the leg with double 13 to make it 1-1.
Hempel had a chance to make it 2-1 from 67 but missed two darts on double 8.
A 145 was still there for Slevin, but he did not finish. Hempel was allowed to come back for 4, but did not throw out. Slevin also missed two chances and so the German had to throw double 1.
That went on the inside and so the Irishman was allowed back in. Double 10 went out and so came the first break in the match. Slevin finished it off by throwing triple 19 and double 10, in a set where they did not get above 77 average.
Slevin misses four set darts
Hempel started the set well with a 180, but Slevin held his leg. Triple 20, triple 19 and the bullseye went out for a 167 finish.
The level got higher, including in finishing. Indeed, Hempel threw out 107 in the second leg and levelled the score again. In the third leg, both men had 132 left. Slevin went first but did not throw out. Neither did Hempel and so Slevin came back for 40 and threw out tops: 2-1.
Hempel almost threw out 144 in the fourth leg, only the double 12 went wrong. He was allowed to return for it and checked it out: 2-2.
Slevin got one arrow on tops with 116 but threw too high. Hempel had 125 left, but threw two on the bullseye and eventually left 16. Slevin did not get 40 out and so Hempel was allowed to come back and he threw out a double 8. So Slevin missed the opportunity in a much better set.
Hempel takes control
The German opened with his second 180 in set 3 and that was also the 100th maximum score of the tournament.
Slevin replied with his first 180. Hempel left 59 in the end, but missed the big 19 and only got one arrow for tops. That went wrong and Slevin threw out 70 in two arrows, meaning Slevin grabbed the break.
Slevin threw seven triples in three innings, leaving 46. In 12 darts tops went out and made it 2-0. Hempel left 74 in his leg, but did not throw tops out. A 124 was also too much for the Irishman.
Hempel was allowed to come back for double 10 and threw it out: 2-1. He opened the fourth leg with his third 180, which was followed by 140, giving him many chances for the break.
He was allowed to come back with 60 and accidentally threw tops instead of the single. That did not matter as double 10 followed and so it became 2-2 in the set - a rebreak in the fourth leg. Slevin timed his third 180 perfectly and so he took the lead in the German's leg.
Slevin got a set dart on 122 and bullseye but missed. Hempel threw out 85 via double 9 to take the set.
Slevin had one to throw out his leg and so Hempel grabbed the break. He threw out double 8 to lead 1-0. Hempel pressed on with 140 and 180. 81 was not out, but Slevin had 210 left, so Hempel came back for double 16.
That went out and put him on match point: 2-0. Slevin had 104 left and threw a triple 20, but then threw a single 13 and had no chance. Hempel had a match dart on tops but missed.
Double 15 did hit for Slevin, making it 2-1. Hempel started right away with 180, whereas Slevin opened with 140. Hempel followed it up with 140 and took the lead in his leg.
Slevin finished with a 180, but those were his last probes as Hempel threw out a double 18. He still ended up with an average of over 91, whereas Slevin reached over 90.
Niels Zonneveld (83) 3-1 Darren Webster (120)

In the second set, Zonneveld threw his first maximum but then missed six darts on the double. Fortunately for him, Webster did the same five times and so he kept his leg by throwing double 2.
In the second leg, Webster got his first dart on a double in a leg of his own. Double 11 went wrong and so Zonneveld grabbed the break again. He threw out 48 to make it 2-0 in the second set.
Out of nowhere, Webster almost threw 161 out in Zonneveld's leg, but the bullseye didn't land. A 148 was too much for Zonneveld and so Webster was allowed to come back for 44.
That went in two arrows via tops out, meaning a rebreak to make it 2-1.
The fourth leg was considerably better from the Englishman. In five innings, 70 finally went out in two arrows. In the fifth leg, Zonneveld threw his second 180 and was able to win the set via tops. He succeeded via double 10.
Zonneveld lets Webster come back
In the first leg of the third set, Zonneveld was nowhere to be seen and so Webster could easily make it 1-0, but after six darts on the double he still had not hit it.
After nine he did and kept his own leg. Webster continued scoring well and also grabbed the break. Double 10 made it 2-0.
Webster threw his second 180 of the match, but Zonneveld was first to a finish. 167 went just short as the bullseye was missed, but 25 did go out and so came the rebreak.
Zonneveld stepped up the pressure as he also won his own leg by throwing out 74 via tops. Webster did not fail, however, and took back a set by throwing out tops. This made it 2-1.
Webster misses opportunities
Zonneveld almost hit 128. Twice he hit triple 18, but not double 10. Webster had a chance at tops from 62, but missed.
Via double 10, Zonneveld still took the leg and led 1-0. Webster came back by throwing the first barrel plus finish of the match.
A 102 went out via tops to level the score in the set. Zonneveld got to match point by throwing out double 8, which caused the Dutchman a much-needed release.
Webster had that relief too, as double 11 was found with 84 left. As a result, the set went to a fifth leg.
Zonneveld got two match darts with 100 but missed. A 70 also failed to go out through Webster, who missed the bullseye. The pressure got high, as double 10 and double 7 were also not thrown and so Webster was allowed to come back for double 8.
He missed twice, but Zonneveld also missed another three darts. Eight missed match darts. Webster missed again and so Zonneveld did throw 7 for the match.
Jermaine Wattimena (51) 3-1 Fallon Sherrock

The Dutchman threw his first 180 in the third leg and took the lead in the leg. With three arrows in hand, 32 went out via double 8: 2-1.
Both had 80 left in the fourth leg. Sherrock was allowed first and she threw tops with the last dart and so everything still went with the darts. The Englishwoman opened with 140 and 180 and had the initiative in Wattimena's leg.
A 123 did not go out as the last dart went off the board. She came back with 50 and she did take it via double 18.
Wattimena turns the match around

Wattimena got a set arrow on 100. Tops he had to throw twice, but only did so once. Sherrock now hit double 10 and came back: 2-1. Wattimena should have had another set dart from 95 but missed the big 20. Fortunately for him, Sherrock missed two arrows for tops. Via double 6 it became 1-1 in sets.
The first leg went easily to The Machine Gun. Via double 5 he made it 1-0 in his own set. In Sherrock's leg, Wattimena threw 168 to leave tops. He got three darts on the break but missed all.
Sherrock couldn't get 86 out and so he was allowed to come back for double 10, which he went on to hit and so it was quickly 2-0 in the set. Quietly, Wattimena was able to finish the set. He only failed to throw out 76 with six darts, but Sherrock did not throw out 53. Via double 2, Wattimena eventually won the set.

Humphries got an arrow on 88 on double 7 to win a leg. He missed, but the world number 3 failed to throw out 156. Via double 2 it became 2-1. Humphries couldn't check out in his leg and so Evans had the chance for the rebreak. Only a pudding shot from under 30 and a 180 from Humphries made it difficult.
A 146 did not go out for Cool Hand Luke and so Evans had a chance for the rebreak on 60. He missed and so Humphries could win the set with 88 left. He missed the bullseye, but Evans again failed to take advantage. An eventual 25 did go out for Humphries and so he won the first set 3-1.
Humphries started the set excellently. After 12 arrows he had 40 left.
Before he was about to throw out a wasp entered the stage and was expertly removed. Humphries then hit a 13-darter to lead 1-0.
He got off to a fast start as he hit his third maximum score of the match in the second leg to take the break. He missed three more arrows from 20 to give Evans the chance on 120. Double 5 went out this time to make it 2-0.
Evans took the rebreak in amazing fashion. Evans had a chance for 2-2 via 86 but missed the bullseye. Humphries only failed to throw 68 out and so Evans had new chances via double 8 and he took them. Humphries did throw 180, but set win was not in danger. Via double 8 it became 2-0.
Evans misses many set pieces
Evans pinned a whopping 116 finish to take a 2-0 lead in the third set but was eventually punished for a total of 19 missed doubles, as Humphries threw out four 180s en route to winning the next three sets.
In the final leg, Humphries - who has recently won the World Grand Prix, Grand Slam of Darts and Players Championship Finals - finally made it through to the next round thanks to a neat 70 checkout on double 16.
