Dele Alli subbed after 30 minutes and booed off field at Besitkas
The former Spurs, Everton and Three Lions star has seen a steep decline in recent seasons, going from being one of England's top young prospects to a troubled time plying his trade in Turkey.
Alli joined Besiktas on a season-long loan from Everton in August after failing to resurrect his form under Frank Lampard at Goodison Park.
Sadly, things have failed to improve, with the 26-year-old yet to complete 90 minutes for the Turkish side, scoring two goals in eight appearances in what has mostly been a bit-part role.
Besiktas were 2-0 down to the third-tier side in the Turkish Cup after 29 minutes before Alli was hauled off, with large sections of his club's own fans booing him off the field after a dismal display from the former MK Dons prodigy.
They went on to win the tie 4-2.
Journalists and fans in Turkey have now begun to turn on the Englishman, with one prominent Turkish TV pundit declaring his signing as "a waste of time" after the game.
It's a sad fall from grace for the midfielder, who scored 69 goals in 267 appearances for Tottenham before departing at the end of the 2021-22 season.
He also scored three goals in 37 appearances for England - including a memorable strike against France during a friendly at Wembley - but he has failed to get anywhere near Gareth Southgate's side since 2019.
