Fallon Sherrock awarded late place at World Darts Championship
The 28-year-old had initially missed out after teenager Beau Greaves took the second and final qualification place from the Women’s Series alongside Lisa Ashton.
But Sherrock will be competing on the biggest stage again, earning her place after winning the first-ever Women’s World Matchplay in Blackpool in July.
A PDC statement read: “The winner of the Betfred Women's World Matchplay will also receive a place in the Cazoo World Darts Championship, beginning from the 2022/23 event as inaugural champion Fallon Sherrock returns to Alexandra Palace next month.”
Sherrock’s appearance will come three years on from her historic campaign at the 2019 World Championship, which saw her claim wins over Ted Evetts and Mensur Suljovic respectively.
The announcement, meanwhile, comes alongside the PDC declaring a prize money increase for the Women’s Series in 2023.
The update will see 24 events held across six weekends with up to £10,000 available per event from a £240,000 pool across the year.
