18:28 BST - PSG's Spanish manager, Luis Enrique, has a habit of beating his compatriot chums in competitive European matches, winning all of his encounters so far against the likes of Pep Guardiola and Unai Emery.

Will he be adding Mikel Arteta to that list of victims tonight?

18:25 BST - Unai Emery is hoping Aston Villa can summon the spirit of the club's 1982 European Cup final win over Bayern Munich when the German giants visit Birmingham in the Champions League on Wednesday.

"It is a special, special match for everyone," said Emery at his pre-match press conference on Tuesday.

"We are motivated and so excited to play tomorrow with our supporters in Villa Park. Remembering as well the final that Villa played against them 42 years ago."

16:13 BST - Xabi Alonso said yesterday that Bayer Leverkusen are expecting a typically dangerous game against Italian opposition when they host AC Milan tonight.

Milan made a poor start to the season, failing to earn a win in their opening three games, and while they also lost their Champions League game to Liverpool they have turned things around on the domestic front with three successive victories.

"An Italian team is always dangerous," Alonso said. "They know how to have patience. They are ready to defend low or to play with possession.

"Milan don't have to be dominant to be dangerous. Sometimes they have good possession, sometimes they have good counter-attacks."

12:17 BST - Pep Guardiola said yesterday he would not take Slovan Bratislava lightly in tonight's clash as his squad continues to adjust to life without key midfielder Rodri.

"When you have won four Premier League titles in a row in one of the toughest leagues in the world and a Champions League winner two years ago, we accept we are favourites when we play," Guardiola told reporters.

"They did not give me 2-0 before the game - it starts 0-0, same pitch. We have to prove it.

"We will put out the best team possible to compete and beat them.

"I have huge respect for them, and the patterns they make, but we will try to impose our game."
