23:39 GMT - That about wraps things up for us tonight. Until we meet again!

22:36 GMT - Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim said his side learnt from a lacklustre showing in the first 45 minutes against Plzen to eventually win the match at full-time.

"We improved during the game," he told TNT Sports. "We controlled the game in the first half but without any great chances.

"We lacked speed and movement and we didn't control the ball because the pitch was difficult to make the connections with the strikers. Viktoria didn't have chances either.

"In the second half, we gave a goal away but we reacted well. We pushed the opponents to their own half and we managed to score. The win is important at the moment and it's good to prepare for the next game."

21:53 GMT - FULL-TIME: The New Saints 0-2 Panathinaikos. A step too far for TNS, perhaps, but a fighting effort against the Greek giants. Read our report here.

13:10 GMT - So, why is Astana v Chelsea kicking off so early? That'll be down to the five-hour time difference between Kazakhstan and the United Kingdom.

But there's another twist with the game being played in Almaty – the south of the country – due to ongoing renovations at Astana's home stadium.

Oh, and temperatures will plummet as low as -10 degrees come kick-off to add another challenge to Enzo Maresca's planning.

13:00 GMT - Good afternoon and welcome back to the European edition of the Football Tracker!

It's time for the Champions League to be set to the side as action from the Europa League and Conference League takes the stage.

The day's play kicks off nice and early at 15:30 GMT with Chelsea making the long trip to Kazakhstan to play Astana in the Conference League as they look to make it five wins out of five.

In the Europa League, former Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou returns to Glasgow and will likely face a frosty reception when his Tottenham side take on Rangers in a 'Battle of Britain'.

Manchester United travel to the Czech Republic to play Viktoria Plzen looking to get back on track having lost their last two games under Ruben Amorim.

Back in the Conference League, the likes of Hearts, Shamrock Rovers, Larne and The New Saints are all in action too.

23:15 GMT - That about wraps things up for tonight! Thank you for joining us.

22:45 GMT - Man City manager Pep Guardiola told TNT Sports that he was "so proud" of his players despite falling to defeat in Turin.

"We played really good," he said. "We missed the last part, the last action.. I’m so proud of these players and I think they gave everything and they tried. Now we leave this period and hopefully we can change (this moment) with good results.

"I know it’s difficult (but) we played really good."

22:35 GMT - Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has spoken of his delight after overcoming "difficult moments" in their match against Monaco.

Speaking to TNT Sports, he said: "(I'm) very happy. Obviously scoring the three goals, keeping a clean sheet and winning the game.

"We started the game very well, in the first half we should have put the game to bed but we didn't. In the Champions League you will have difficult moments and we suffered but then with the second goal the game was in control.

"They had a lot of rotation which was difficult to manage that. I think the subs helped us, they gave us energy and helped with the structure.

"Everybody is important, every three days it's impossible to keep the same players."

22:30 GMT - Arsenal's Bukayo Saka praised Myles Lewis-Skelly after the teenage defender made his Champions League debut against Monaco.

"I just said to him 'this is his level'," Saka explained to TNT Sports. "He needs to have no doubts, play the game and have the confidence. We see what he's doing in training. We are pleased for him and he played a key part in the first goal.

"He just needs to keep going. I'm just so proud of him."

22:20 GMT - Ilkay Gudogan has spoken of his frustration after Man City's defeat at Juventus.

"It's very disappointing," he told TNT Sports. "We had chances to score a few goals but at the moment it feels like every attack we concede is just so dangerous.

"I have a feeling sometimes we are a bit careless with duels, instead of playing simple we overcomplicate things and we missed the right timing to release the ball. Just lose the ball and give them counter attacks.

"At the moment it’s not working for us... I feel like we know exactly what’s going wrong. We know the reasons.

"We actually don’t play bad.. we play quite good football and we create chances. If you give away one chance and they score.. it’s not that easy."

21:55 GMT - The remaining full-time whistles have blown around Europe. Stay with us for all the key reaction.

17:25 GMT - There are two early matches in the Champions League tonight with Atletico Madrid taking on Slovan Bratislava and Lille facing Sturm Graz. Both matches kick-off at 17:45.

And there is an early result in the Europea League as Athletic Bilbao beat 10-man Fenerbahce 2-0 to extend their unbeaten run in all competitions to 12 matches, and go top. Jose Mourinho's men meanwhile stay 15th ahead of tomorrow's round of matches.

17:05 GMT - Manchester City's Phil Foden and Mateo Kovacic returned to training on Tuesday, but manager Pep Guardiola said if the two feature at Juventus on Wednesday, it will be for only a few minutes, as City's injury troubles show little sign of abating.

Foden is back training after missing two games with bronchitis while Kovacic has been absent since the last international break due to injury.

"I don't think so," Guardiola said about their potential return on Wednesday.

"Maybe a few minutes for Kova, but I don't think so. But it's nice to have them back here to the team, to the training sessions, and, of course, travel with us."

Read more from Guardiola ahead of City's clash with Juventus.

16:30 GMT - Mikel Arteta praised his Arsenal team for how they have coped with a punishing defensive injury crisis as he prepares his men to face Monaco in the Champions League on Wednesday.

The Gunners are seventh in the new-look Champions League format after three wins in five matches - one place above the Ligue 1 team.

But Arteta, whose men are also third in the Premier League, is juggling a lengthy injury list.

"We have to manage a lot of the players, so they're probably not going to be fit for tomorrow and are a doubt," Arteta said at his pre-match press conference on Tuesday.

"I still have 24 hours to make those decisions and hopefully the right ones... In the ideal scenario, we have to be in charge to make those decisions because it's forcing us to make it for the wrong reasons, but as well, we need to accept the reality and move forwards."

Read more of Arteta's comments before Arsenal face Monaco.

16:00 GMT - Welcome back to the Football Tracker! It's part two of matchday six in the Champions League, and what an evening we have in store with Manchester City facing a tricky test in Turin against Juventus while Arsenal come up against Monaco at the Emirates.

The Gunners could end the evening in third place while City could climb to ninth. Remember only the top eight qualify automatically for the last 16, with the next 16 teams - currently including Real Madrid, PSG, AC Milan and Atletico Madrid - facing a play-off round in the new year. Oof.

Both matches get underway at 20:00 GMT.

Tuesday 10th December

23:00 GMT - That's your lot for tonight then, folks.

Join us again tomorrow for more Champions League drama, including Arsenal versus Monaco and Juventus against Manchester City.

22:51 GMT - Real Madrid star Jude Bellingham says his side are still aiming for a top-eight finish in the Champions League to avoid having to play an extra knockout fixture.

"Really important for us to get the points tonight," Bellingham told TNT Sports.

"We knew how difficult it would be. It was important we got over the line.

"I understand from outside there is an expectation of success from the three of us (Bellingham, Vinicius Jr and Mbappe).

"It is nice we scored, but it is useless if we don't win games.

"Preferably we finish in the top eight, it is fewer games and a chance to regroup a bit."

22:47 GMT - Aston Villa boss Unai Emery thoroughly enjoyed his side's 3-2 win in Germany tonight.

"I try to enjoy, and always want to improve, and sometimes it is hard, but today, the team were performing well, playing seriously, and I was enjoying it," Emery told Amazon Prime.

"We tried to overcome the mistakes we made, and we did. More or less we were playing consistently. One mistake and they score but then we played very well.

"The Champions League is very difficult and we have to expect that every team playing at home are feeling strong. We played with consistency and domination."

22:22 GMT - Here's how the Champions League table looks ahead of Wednesday's fixtures, with Liverpool all but through with their 100 per cent record and Leverkusen sitting in second after their late victory over Inter.

Tonight's loss to Villa means RB Leipzig become the first side to officially be out of contention for the knockout stages.

22:16 GMT - Aston Villa captain and goalscorer John McGinn felt his side probably should have put the game to bed earlier against RB Leipzig.

"It was disappointing losing the offside goal," the Scottish international told Amazon Prime.

"I think the two goals we conceded were disappointing from our point of view. I thought overall we were the better team and we could have scored more.

"We dealt with their problems well, and what we needed today was substitutes to make a difference.

"It is exciting. We had some disappointing results off the great start and it is great to be in the top three. We have that Monaco game and then a nice one against Celtic."

22:13 GMT - Liverpool boss Arne Slot admitted he was "less than pleased" with Liverpool's narrow win against Girona earlier this evening.

"If you ask me about all the six games, I'm really pleased with all the results," Slot said in his post-match press conference.

"I'm really pleased with the first five games, but I'm far from pleased about the performance tonight.

"If you play against a team that has such a good idea about football and knows how to bring the ball out from the back like some of the teams we've played recently, such as Real Madrid and Manchester City, you need to be so intense if you want to make it difficult for them.

"Every time we lost the ball, we were not aggressive enough, and they could go almost all the way to our goal and have a shot.

"We had hardly any control at all over the game."

22:06 GMT - Club Brugge have managed to hold out for a famous victory against Sporting Lisbon.

16:31 GMT - Carlo Ancelotti hinted on Monday that Vinicius Junior could make his Real Madrid comeback for his team's key Champions League clash at red-hot Atalanta.

Vinicius was expected to be out until the Intercontinental Cup final next week after suffering a hamstring injury last month but Ancelotti told reporters that he is in contention to start in Bergamo on Tuesday night.

"Vinicius is in good shape but we've got to assess him. I think it's very important for him how he does in training today," said Ancelotti at yesterday's press conference.

16:19 GMT - Liverpool coach Arne Slot warned Monday that Champions League opponents Girona are stronger than their results in the competition so far indicate.

The Premier League leaders are top of the European standings with a 100 per cent record and tonight face a Girona side down in 30th, with four defeats in five matches.

However, Slot said he had been watching Girona for a while, as they ran Real Madrid close for the Spanish title last season, and said the Champions League debutants' results do not reflect their quality.

"I think it's really special what they've done here, particularly last season but even this season," Slot told a news conference on Monday.
