23:20 BST - That about wraps things up for us tonight! Thank you for joining in - we'll be back tomorrow when a host of teams are in action. Some of our highlights are linked below:

Ferencvaros v Tottenham

Dinamo Minsk v Hearts

Porto v Manchester Utd

Rangers v Lyon

Chelsea v Gent

Fiorentina v The New Saints

Shamrock Rovers v APOEL

22:43 BST – Aston Villa manager Unai Emery was reportedly delayed speaking to the press after catching up with Prince William at full-time, but - eventually - told TNT Sports:

"We want to be consistent to play in Europe (regularly)."

When asked about Jhon Duran, he said: "We are working with him. Most important is his attitude. He's available to play 90, 60, 30 minutes. He's been focusing each minute he's playing. Today we had two very good strikers. It's fantastic for him and the team.

"Against teams like that, it's very important to be strong. Martinez did an amazing job, amazing saves.

"We have to try to play each match. We compete very well, we won. Maybe we can get the first eight positions."

22:34 BST – Liverpool manager Arne Slot has spoken of his delight at keeping a clean sheet against Bologna tonight.

He told TNT Sports: "It wasn't an easy one, in my opinion Bologna made it difficult. Similar to Atalanta, man-mark all over the pitch. Wait for the right moment if you play through completely open - it was many times. The last pass could have been better.

"If we play against a team comfortable in ball possession, sometimes you have to work hard, suffer, what I was delighted with was how they throw themselves in front of the ball, do everything to try and keep a clean sheet."

22:27 BST - Alexis Mac Allister has been giving his reaction to TNT Sports following Liverpool’s 2-0 win over Bologna.

"I’m really happy personally... for the team. He (Alisson) made some good saves. Sometimes I think we need to defend better, at least Ali showed how good he is. I’m happy for him and for the team.

"It is clear we are in transition, we are happy with the ideas, we are trying to get there. There is room for improvement, that's why we work very hard every day."

22:20 BST - Aston Villa's Emiliano Martinez has been speaking to TNT Sports after their incredible 1-0 win over Bayern.

"It's unreal to be fair," he said. "This is the loudest Villa Park that I've heard since I joined the club, that's for sure, it was hurting my ears at some point.

"It's a club that is moving forward. It's the main reason why I stay in this football club. I love playing here, I love the fans, this is a win for them."

He added: "The first time (Duran) touched the ball, he lobbed Neuer, one of the best goals in history.

"It's a statement, there's still a lot to play. We want to qualify… in the top eight. It's one step at a time, we've got Bologna at home now in our second game, we are probably more relaxed but we want to win every game."

22:10 BST - Here’s the full-time results from the Champions League tonight:

18:28 BST - PSG's Spanish manager, Luis Enrique, has a habit of beating his compatriot chums in competitive European matches, winning all of his encounters so far against the likes of Pep Guardiola and Unai Emery.

Will he be adding Mikel Arteta to that list of victims tonight?

18:25 BST - Unai Emery is hoping Aston Villa can summon the spirit of the club's 1982 European Cup final win over Bayern Munich when the German giants visit Birmingham in the Champions League on Wednesday.

"It is a special, special match for everyone," said Emery at his pre-match press conference on Tuesday.

"We are motivated and so excited to play tomorrow with our supporters in Villa Park. Remembering as well the final that Villa played against them 42 years ago."

16:13 BST - Xabi Alonso said yesterday that Bayer Leverkusen are expecting a typically dangerous game against Italian opposition when they host AC Milan tonight.

Milan made a poor start to the season, failing to earn a win in their opening three games, and while they also lost their Champions League game to Liverpool they have turned things around on the domestic front with three successive victories.

"An Italian team is always dangerous," Alonso said. "They know how to have patience. They are ready to defend low or to play with possession.

"Milan don't have to be dominant to be dangerous. Sometimes they have good possession, sometimes they have good counter-attacks."

12:17 BST - Pep Guardiola said yesterday he would not take Slovan Bratislava lightly in tonight's clash as his squad continues to adjust to life without key midfielder Rodri.

"When you have won four Premier League titles in a row in one of the toughest leagues in the world and a Champions League winner two years ago, we accept we are favourites when we play," Guardiola told reporters.

"They did not give me 2-0 before the game - it starts 0-0, same pitch. We have to prove it.

"We will put out the best team possible to compete and beat them.

"I have huge respect for them, and the patterns they make, but we will try to impose our game."
