Championship round-up: Leeds fight back, Rooney's Birmingham beaten
Catch up on all the action from Saturday's Championship fixtures:
Preston 1-1 Millwall
Preston North End are without a win in five Championship outings after surrendering their early lead against Millwall at Deepdale - a draw that extends the Lilywhites’ winless streak against London sides to nine games (D3, L6).
Blackburn 1-0 Cardiff
A scrappy game swung the way of Blackburn Rovers, who overcame a stubborn Cardiff side 1-0 at Ewood Park, keeping them unbeaten at home against the Bluebirds since December 2012 (W3, D5).
Bristol City 1-0 Coventry
Robert Dickie scored the winner for Bristol City at Ashton Gate to secure a 1-0 win over in-form Coventry City and move within a point of the play-off places. The win sees the Robins claim a first H2H win in six attempts (W1, D2, L3).
Huddersfield 2-1 QPR
Huddersfield Town defeated Queens Park Rangers 2-1 to move six points clear of the Championship relegation places. The Hoops' poor form continues as they now have just six wins from their last 44 matches in all competitions.
Hull 1-2 Southampton
Ryan Fraser’s last-gasp strike earned Southampton a 2-1 victory at the MKM Stadium against Hull City, ending the hosts’ nine-game EFL Championship unbeaten home run in the process.
Middlesbrough 1-0 Birmingham
On the day that Manchester United legend Sir Bobby Charlton sadly passed away, legend in his own right Wayne Rooney’s heart was broken late on as Morgan Rogers tapped home moments from time to claim all three points at the Riverside.
Norwich 2-3 Leeds
Leeds United sensationally came from two goals down at HT to secure what appeared at the end of the first half to be an unlikely 3-2 victory away to Norwich City at Carrow Road. The result registers the visitors’ first hat-trick of H2H victories in the league for the first time since the 1972/73 campaign.
Stoke 2-1 Sunderland
Stoke City bounced back from consecutive defeats to claim a narrow 2-1 victory over Sunderland, which ultimately brought an end to the visitors’ four-game unbeaten away run.
Swansea 1-3 Leicester
A polished performance from Leicester City saw the Foxes come from behind to beat Swansea City 3-1 and extend their lead at the top of the Championship to five points. Enzo Maresca’s men become the first-ever side in English second-tier history to win their first six away matches.
Watford 1-0 Sheffield Wednesday
A late substitution saw Yáser Asprilla emerge a hero at Vicarage Road, as Watford overcame basement side Sheffield Wednesday 1-0 to boost their hopes of avoiding demotion to the third tier of English football for the first time this century.
West Brom 0-0 Plymouth
Despite securing their first point in three games, Plymouth Argyle remain winless on the road in the Championship after playing out a 0-0 draw against a West Bromwich Albion side, who failed to win in consecutive games.
