23:05 BST - That about wraps things up for us here tonight, as England fall at the last hurdle in the Euros. Thank you for joining us and catch you next time!

22:34 BST - Spain have just got their hands on the trophy! You can watch the lift in the clip below.

22:23 BST - Harry Kane has said that Gareth Southgate will "take time to decide" his England future after the Three Lions' defeat to Spain tonight.

"Gareth will go away and take time to decide. We wanted to win it for him."

Kane added: "Losing in a final is as tough as it gets. We done really well to get back in the game at 1-1 and then we couldn't use our momentum to push on. It's as painful as it can be in a football match."

22:16 BST - As Spain prepare to lift the Euro 2024 trophy, there is time to look back at their path to the final.

It was a different La Roja side, from the "tika-taka" style we've come to know and fear throughout Europe, but they were - once more - the most exciting team this summer.

Read all about their road to Berlin here.

22:09 BST - "It's his decision," says Harry Kane, when asked about Gareth Southgate staying on as England manager. The captain then went on to explain that he and the rest of the players want him to stay.

21:53 BST - FULL-TIME: Spain 2-1 England. It was an admirable effort by the Three Lions, who put the best team on the continent to the sword. Read our full match report here.

21:45 BST - GOAL! Spain lead again! Mikel Oyarzabal, and that might be it, 2-1.

21:42 BST - Robin Le Normand has left the field, with Nacho coming on.

21:41 BST - Chance! Lamine Yamal gets another shot away, but files it right down Jordan Pickford's throat. Good composure by the England man, 1-1.

21:31 BST - GOAL! Cole Palmer for England! It didn't take long for the Chelsea starlet to make an impact. Wow! A fine bit of play by Jude Bellingham in the build-up too, 1-1.

21:29 BST - Cole Palmer has been brought on for England and it's Kobbie Mainoo who makes way.

21:27 BST - Mikel Oyarzabal has replaced Spain captain Alvaro Morata.

21:25 BST - Chance! It's Spain this time as Lamine Yamal skins Luke Shaw, only for Jordan Pickford to deny him expertly. This one is heating up, 1-0.

21:23 BST - Chance! Jude Bellingham gets himself in a lovely bit of space... but blasts his effort wide. A bit of hope for England.

21:19 BST - England are about to introduce Ollie Watkins... and it's Harry Kane who will make way.

21:16 BST - Chance! Spain aren't holding back! Nico Williams has just unleashed an effort from range that had Jordan Pickford scampering.

21:15 BST - Chance! Spain nearly get a second as Lamine Yamal turns past Jordan Pickford, but the youngster's shot is cleared by John Stones. 1-0.

21:05 BST - GOAL! Nico Williams for Spain! He gives England no chance to settle into the second period, as the Three Lions are carved open far too easily, 1-0.

21:04 BST - We are back underway in Berlin...

Spain have been forced into replacing Rodri with Martin Zubimendi.

20:47 BST - Chance! Phil Foden gets England's first shot on-goal, but it's saved well.

20:44 BST - Alvaro Morata just latched onto a wonderful ball over the top, but was unable to beat the England backline.

20:37 BST - A little update on the number of shots the teams have managed to muster up; England with one are trailing Spain and their five attempts. It remains, 0-0.

20:33 BST - Both teams are struggling to generate any kind of rhythm, which hasn't been helped by the number of stoppages the referee has elected to have.

20:31 BST - Spain's Dani Olmo has been booked after colliding with Declan Rice.

20:26 BST - Harry Kane has been given a yellow card after a cynical challenge. It followed a spiky period of play in which both sides traded heavy tackles.

20:17 BST - It has been a fairly tame start, with Spain perhaps enjoying more joy than England.

Neither 'keeper has really been tested, but the Spaniards are beating Gareth Southgate's side 2-1 on shots on-goal. Most importantly, it remains 0-0.

20:15 BST - Kyle Walker pulled up not too long ago and has looked a little locked-up since. Perhaps we could see Kieran Trippier or Trent Alexander-Arnold soon.
