Scotland's Women's Euro 2025 qualifying match against Israel was delayed after a protestor chained themself to a goal frame.

Hundreds of police officers were in attendance outside Hampden Park, Glasgow, where the fixture was slated to take place behind closed doors.

A large number of protestors, flying both Scotland and Palestine flags, gathered near the stadium prior to the 19:05 BST pm kick-off.

One protestor - wearing a shirt that said 'red card for Israel' - evaded police, ran onto the pitch and chained themself to a goalpost.

The match was swiftly postponed and work then began on safely removing the activist, which was achieved around 19:20 BST.

The match was then allowed to begin at 19:36 BST, with Scotland taking a 3-0 lead over Israel before half-time and ultimately winning 4-1.

In the UK, public protests against Israeli militancy in Gaza have been happening on a regular basis.
