Members of the Peruvian national team - who will play a friendly against Morocco in Madrid on Tuesday - ended up involved in a fight with the police in the Spanish capital. The Inca goalkeeper, Pedro Gallese, left the police station without charge after giving his statement about the incident.

The party atmosphere turned into a brawl when some members of the Peruvian national team ended up in a confrontation with the Spanish police outside the NH Collection Eurobuilding in Madrid.

The police, as reported by various agencies, cordoned off the area of the hotel.

The players, who arrived at the NH Collection Eurobuilding on Monday afternoon from their training session in Las Rozas, approached the fans, apparently to greet them.

At that moment, the police prevented the players from approaching the fans, which would have caused the embarrassing event.

"We want to greet the fans and they start punching us," said Pedro Gallese, goalkeeper of the Peruvian national team.

Gallese, who was one of those who allegedly intervened in the fight, reported to a police station on Monday night.

The Peruvian Consulate General reported that the athlete was released without charge after giving his statements to the relevant authorities.
