Leeds United find social media threats against Patrick Bamford and his family "unacceptable". The striker received threats after he missed a penalty in last Saturday's 2-2 draw against Newcastle United.

Bamford's penalty was saved by Nick Pope in the first half of the Premier League game after Joelinton brought down Junior Firpo in the penalty area.

"Last night, Patrick Bamford and his family received completely unacceptable online abuse, including several threats via Twitter," Leeds said on Sunday. "The time for this behaviour to stop is now."

Leeds, ranked 18th, will play an away game against West Ham United next weekend before hosting Tottenham Hotspur in the final league game of the season.
