Leicester defender Soyuncu 'agrees four-year deal' with Atletico
Soyuncu is set to be a free agent with his contract at the relegated East Midlands club expiring this summer.
According to the BBC, the 27-year-old has had an "agreement in principle" to join La Liga side Atletico since January after deciding against extending his Leicester stay.
Atletico manager Diego Simeone also appeared to confirm his signing in an interview with a Spanish radio station.
"Atletico is going to sign what they can sign. We know what we need. Soyuncu is already signed and is going to help us," the Argentine coach told Cope.
Soyuncu is set to be the second Leicester player to leave the club on a free transfer this summer after midfielder Youri Tielemans.
The Turkey international joined the club from Freiburg in 2018 and went on to make 132 appearances, winning the FA Cup and Community Shield.
Soyuncu played largely a bit part role this season under Brendan Rodgers but was brought back into the fold by Dean Smith in the latter stages of the campaign.
