The father of World Cup winner for Argentina and current Brighton player Alexis Mac Allister has revealed that the midfielder is already in talks with other clubs and "most likely to be playing for another team by July".

In an interview with a blog supporting Boca Juniors, Carlos Mac Allister, politician and former international footballer for Argentina on three occasions, spoke about how it is to have a world champion in the family and the current moment of the Bombonera emblem, but what most caught the eye was the question about the future of his son.

Asked about the possibility of Alexis going to another club after the summer transfer market, the father lifted the veil on his future.

"Normally, the next transfer market will end up with him playing for another club, we don't know which one, talks have recently started, but the most likely thing is that Alexis, next July, will be playing for another team," he revealed.

The statements even reached the famous journalist Fabrizio Romano, who replicated them in full.

On a possible return to Boca later in his career, Carlos Mac Allister said his son will "surely play again" for the Argentine club.

"Today he is starting his career in Europe, but on the way back, when he decides to settle back in Argentina, I'm sure he will want to play for Boca, even if it's only for a short time, to finish thanking them and show the level he can have at a club of that nature in Argentina," he said.

Carlos Mac Allister was a left-back who played for Boca Juniors, Argentino Juniors, Ferro Carril and Racing Club during a career that ended in 1999. After football, he embarked on politics, having been a deputy in the National Assembly and even became Minister of Sport from 2015 to 2018 in the government of President Mauricio Macri.
