Mourinho says Tottenham are the only team he has no 'deep feeling' for
Mourinho coached at Spurs between November 2019 and April 2021 and was added to the list of managers who have failed to end the club's now 15-year trophy drought.
That was despite reaching the League Cup final although he was sacked from his role in the build-up to the meeting with Manchester City, which Spurs lost.
Mourinho, now at Roma, has got back into the swing of winning silverware after leading the club to the inaugural Europa Conference League and is now preparing for the Europa League final.
Ahead of the Giallorossi's match-up with Sevilla, the Portuguese admitted Tottenham are the only side he has not been able to maintain a good relationship with, particularly after the timing and manner of his dismissal.
"I have established a great bond with all the clubs I have coached," Mourinho said at a press conference.
"They make fun of me when I say I am a fan of Porto, Chelsea, Manchester United, Real Madrid, Inter and Roma. I have a connection with them all. I love them all. They also love me back.
"The only team I don't have this relationship with is Tottenham. I hope that my words will not be misinterpreted by Tottenham fans but that is the only club in my career with which I do not have a deep feeling.
"Probably because the stadium was empty at the time of Covid and probably because Mr Levy didn't let me win a final or win a trophy."
The 60-year-old added: "When I leave Roma one day it will be tough. But we will be connected forever, as I am with all my previous clubs. Apart from Mr Levy's club."
Levy has come under increasing pressure from the Spurs faithful this season with the club falling well short of the Champions League places and at risk of missing out on European football altogether.
They have been on the hunt for a new manager since March after the sacking of Antonio Conte with Cristian Stellini and now Ryan Mason having been in charge since.
However, they suffered a big blow in their pursuit of Feyenoord boss Arne Slot, who ruled himself out of contention on Thursday.
