Premier League Team of the Week: Newcastle dominate after big win
Our Team of the Week selects the 11 best players from the weekend, using Flashscore's player ratings system.
GK: Guglielmo Vicario, 7.9 (Tottenham Hotspur)
Guglielmo Vicario features in goal this week after his solid showing in the north London derby - helping Spurs to a 2-2 draw against rivals Arsenal.
The Italian has been impressive all season for his new club and continued his strong form, making four saves to ensure his side came away with a point and continued their unbeaten start to the campaign.
DEF: Kieran Trippier, 9.6 (Newcastle)
The standout performer over the weekend was Kieran Trippier, who registered an immense 9.6 player rating after his brilliant showing in Newcastle's 8-0 win against Sheffield United.
Trippier provided three assists from fullback and proved how valuable he can be both going forward and defensively.
His 9.6 rating was the highest of anyone not just over the weekend but the whole season so far.
DEF: James Tarkowski, 9.3 (Everton)
Everton registered a much-needed win at the weekend, beating Brentford 3-1 away from home.
James Tarkowski set up the opening goal before scoring himself in the second half as the Toffees won their first league game of the season.
He also made a solid defensive contribution, winning eight aerial duels and making four clearances.
DEF: Virgil van Dijk, 9.1 (Liverpool)
Virgil van Dijk was back to his best as Liverpool came from behind to defeat West Ham 3-1, with the Dutchman providing an assist while also putting in a typically solid performance at the back.
His five clearances, three interceptions, two tackles and one solitary block - along with 12 successful aerial duels - saw the defender earn a 9.1 player rating.
DEF: Dan Burn, 8.1 (Newcastle)
The second of four Newcastle players in the Team of the Week - although the lowest rated by a fair distance - Dan Burn was one of the Magpies' eight different scorers against Sheffield United.
He dived in at the back post to head home from Trippier's corner and gave the visitors a platform to dominate from, not letting the Blades mount any real pressure at all.
MID: Bukayo Saka, 8.5 (Arsenal)
Arsenal will feel they should have come away with more than a point against Spurs, but Bukayo Saka will be pleased with his performance.
The winger forced an own goal after his curling effort deflected in off of Cristian Romero, before converting from the penalty spot at the start of the second half.
MID: Bruno Guimarães, 9.1 (Newcastle)
Bruno Guimarães bossed the midfield in Newcastle's 8-0 win against Sheffield United, first providing an assist and then scoring a goal of his own in front of a raucous travelling crowd.
His involvement stretched further than goals and assists - completing four key passes, two successful dribbles, winning all of his ground and aerial duels (8/8) as well as making two tackles.
MID: James Maddison, 8.3 (Tottenham Hotspur)
Spurs relied on the brilliance of their two key attackers - James Maddison and Heung-Min Son - to ensure they came from behind twice and took a point from the north London derby.
Maddison provided both assists for the vistors, twice setting up Son.
His first was particularly impressive, leaving Saka behind with a great turn before cutting the ball back for Son to score.
MID: Anthony Gordon, 9.5 (Newcastle)
Anthony Gordon rounds off the four Newcastle players to make Flashscore's Team of the Week following his impressive showing against Sjeffield United.
The winger didn't start the match, but was brought on after Harvey Barnes picked up an injury and made a huge impact.
Gordon provided a goal and an assist while also creating another two big chances - with his rating of 9.5 only bettered by his teammate Trippier.
FWD: Mohamed Salah, 9.1 (Liverpool)
With rumours of a transfer to Saudi Arabia put to bed - until January, at least - Mohamed Salah has started to catch the headlines for all the right reasons again and was a standout performer once more for Liverpool.
The forward equalised for the Reds after winning and then converting a penalty, continuing his incredible record of registering a direct goal involvement in all of his Premier League appearances so far this season.
FWD: Heung-Min Son, 8.1 (Tottenham Hotspur)
Son netted twice for Spurs in their 2-2 draw against Arsenal and highlighted how he is starting to properly adapt to a new lone striker role in the absence of Harry Kane.
Two excellent finishes from the South Korea international made sure that Spurs came away with a point and maintained their unbeaten run in the league.
