Premier League Team of the Week: Van Dijk, Son and Fernandes excel
Our side is selected each week based on our player ratings system.
GK: Andre Onana, 7.9 (Manchester United)
Despite a tough start to life at Manchester United, Andre Onana seemed settled between the sticks in their 2-1 win against Sheffield United.
The goalkeeper made five saves and maintained a 79% pass accuracy, only losing out on a clean sheet due to Oli McBurnie's penalty.
DEF: Matt Doherty, 7.9 (Wolves)
For the first time since September 19th, our Team of the Week doesn't feature Kieran Trippier!
Matt Doherty shone for Wolves over the weekend in their 2-1 victory over Bournemouth.
The Irishman excelled down the right-hand side, having a positive impact at both ends of the pitch - winning 14 duels, making three tackles and creating one big chance.
DEF: Virgil van Dijk, 8.1 (Liverpool)
Virgil van Dijk helped control the game as Liverpool claimed a solid 2-0 win against Everton in the Merseyside derby, enabling the Reds to dominate the ball and build from defence.
A pass accuracy of 90% as well as 116 touches highlighted Van Dijk's influence from the back, which was helped by the fact the visitors were reduced to 10 men early on.
Any rare attack that did come his way was easily dealt with, as the Dutchman made five clearances and two tackles.
DEF: Craig Dawson, 8.4 (Wolves)
The second Wolves defender to make it into the team, Craig Dawson was impressive again and continues to go under the radar as one of the league's top defensive performers this season.
Dawson made six clearances, five tackles, three interceptions and won 10 out of 11 duels - playing a big role in another valuable victory for his side.
DEF: Diogo Dalot, 7.9 (Manchester United)
Diogo Dalot netted the winner in Manchester United's match against Sheffield United, curling a superb effort into the top corner from outside of the penalty area.
His superb strike, coupled with some top work from full-back, warrants his 7.9 rating and an inclusion in the Team of the Week.
MID: Jacob Murphy, 9.3 (Newcastle)
Newcastle continued their brilliant form with a 4-0 win against Crystal Palace, with winger Jacob Murphy playing a starring role.
Murphy opened the scoring and went on to assist another two goals, proving to be a thorn in Palace's defence every time he got forward.
A match rating of 9.3 also makes him Flashscore's Player of the Week.
MID: Douglas Luiz, 9.0 (Aston Villa)
Douglas Luiz scored twice in Aston Villa's 4-1 thrashing of West Ham, dominating the midfield as Unai Emery's side continued their impressive run of form.
On top of his goals, the Brazilian made three key passes and put up some impressive defensive numbers including three tackles and two clearances.
Luiz is fast becoming one of the division's top midfielders and his performances have been key to Villa's success.
MID: Bruno Fernandes, 8.6 (Manchester United)
Bruno Fernandes hasn't been at his best this season, registering just two goals and two assists, but was the top performer in United's victory last weekend.
He set up Scott McTominay's opener and would continue to have a creative influence on the match - making five key passes to earn himself an 8.6 rating.
MID: Bryan Mbeumo, 9.0 (Brentford)
Brentford recorded a superb 3-0 win against Burnley to secure only their second victory in the league this season.
Bryan Mbeumo scored once and set up another, causing the opposition defence all sorts of problems as the Bees rose to 14th in the table.
FWD: Chris Wood, 8.6 (Nottingham Forest)
Nottingham Forest won't be pleased with their 2-2 draw against Luton having been two goals up after the 80th minute, although the performance of Chris Wood was a particular highlight.
Wood netted twice for Forest - both assisted by Anthony Elanga - filling the gap left by the injured Taiwo Awoniyi very nicely.
His 8.6 rating was the second highest of any striker over the weekend.
FWD: Heung-min Son, 8.7 (Tottenham Hotspur)
The final player selected for the Team of the Week is Spurs forward Heung-min Son.
A goal and an assist in their 2-0 win against Fulham ensured the South Korea international came away with an 8.7 rating.
Son's first half strike was the highlight of the match, expertly ghosting past two defenders and curling an effort beyond Bernd Leno in the opposition goal.
