Ratcliffe 'has five-man shortlist for Man Utd sporting director post'
Manchester United prospective investor Sir Jim Ratcliffe has lined up a five-man shortlist for a new sporting director.
Per The Times, Ratcliffe will be buying 25 per cent of the club on the basis that he is put in charge of sporting matters.
Ratcliffe appears to have won the race to eventually buy the club entirely, with the Qatari royal family pulling out.
Paul Mitchell, formerly of AS Monaco, is one of those who is on the shortlist for the job.
Michael Edwards and Julian Ward are others who may come into the fray as well.
Two men who are in danger of losing their jobs include United's chief Richard Arnold and director of football John Murtaugh.
