Senesi stars as Bournemouth beat Crystal Palace
Those in attendance at Selhurst Park were treated to a lively start, with both goalkeepers forced into action in the opening ten minutes. Bournemouth shot-stopper Neto tipped over from Jordan Ayew’s driven strike, before his opposite number, Sam Johnstone, produced a smart stop to thwart Antoine Semenyo.
However, the Englishman could do nothing to prevent the in-form visitors from breaking the deadlock in the 25th minute. A corner from the right flank was flicked on by the towering Luis Sinisterra, giving Senesi the simple task of nodding in at the back post.
Although Ayew threatened to provide an immediate response, the Eagles were unable to hit back before the interval, leaving the hosts in an unusual position after their previous six home league games had all been level at the break.
Following an underwhelming first period, Roy Hodgson would have been encouraged by his team’s fast start to the second period. Former Bournemouth midfielder Jefferson Lerma went close to levelling the scoreline within five minutes of the restart, crashing a thunderous right-foot shot against the upright.
Unfortunately for the hosts, they were unable to take advantage of their promising spell of pressure, as the second half slowly descended into a cagey affair.
A professional and determined Bournemouth side ultimately kept Palace at arm's length before Moore made sure of the three points in stoppage time, heading home from Philip Billing’s clipped pass.
The result moves the Cherries level on 16 points with their downbeat opponents, who are now winless in four matches. Matters do not get any easier for the Eagles, with Liverpool and Manchester City to come in their next two fixtures.
