Paul Pogba tests positive for doping with testosterone
As reported by ANSA, the player failed a post-match test after Juventus' visit to Udine. If confirmed, he will be suspended and risks disqualification.
For Pogba, it would be yet another trouble in a number of troubled years - after the many injuries he has suffered (and relapses) since his return to Juve.
That in addition to being unfit to participate at the Qatar World Cup in 2022.
Against Udinese, the player was left on the bench. He played against both Bologna and Empoli, though.
Possible disqualification
If confirmed, Pogba will be suspended as a precautionary measure and will then have three days to request counter-analysis.
Should the positivity be confirmed, the Frenchman will be tried by the national anti-doping tribunal unless he opts for a plea bargain.
In such cases, the disqualification can be up to two years - and four years in the case of proven intent.
For Pogba, this would be a violation of the articles concerning the 'presence of a prohibited substance' and the 'use or attempted use of a prohibited substance'.
The last case in Serie A was that of Jose Palomino of Atalanta, who was acquitted after four months.
