21:00 BST - Tottenham's superb start to Ange Postecoglou's first season in charge has awoken some faint dreams of an unexpected title challenge.

While that may yet prove beyond Tottenham, the Australian has undoubtedly had a huge impact on a club that was in turmoil when he arrived from Celtic.

"The players want to change the destiny of this football club and that is what they are trying to do on the pitch," Postecoglou said.

"It's going alright, but we're in October and still have a lot of work to do."

Speaking after the match, he told reporters: "I think a player with his experience knows he needs to perform and to show the manager of the national team he was wrong in the decision.

"Only with performances and scoring goals is he going to show he deserved to go."

18:59 BST - Scott McTominay described his late heroics in Manchester United's dramatic win over Brentford as one of his favourite moments of his career:

"That would be one of my favourite moments on a football pitch. It was incredible," said McTominay.

"Everyone knows we're in a difficult situation at the minute but we've got fighters. The manager probably said 'go on and score' and thankfully I could repay that."

16:50 BST - Fulham have retaken the lead against Sheffield United and it's a strange one. Tom Cairney lines up a strike from distance, slips and it looks like the ball clips off his standing leg and loops off the underside of the crossbar and in off Wes Foderingham. They all count!

16:40 BST - It's an equaliser for Sheffield United at Fulham and it's an own goal after Antonee Robinson turns into his own net. All square with over 20 minutes to go at Craven Cottage.

16:35 BST - It's a scoring frenzy for Chelsea at Burnley! It's 4-1 now and substitute Nicolas Jackson gets in on the act to pile more misery on the Clarets.

16:25 BST - The deadlock has been broken between Fulham and Sheffield United and it's the hosts who open the scoring through Bobby De Cordova-Reid. They had been knocking on the door for that one.

Meanwhile, Chelsea have added a bit of breathing room at Turf Moor through Raheem Sterling, who tallies to make the score 3-1 now.

16:23 BST - They're having fun at Goodison Park - 3-0 to Everton against Bournemouth and Abdoulaye Doucoure gets on the scoresheet in what should theoretically be game over.

16:10 BST - Chelsea take the lead at Burnley! Raheem Sterling is hacked down in the penalty area and the resulting spot kick is converted by Cole Palmer. The Blues have turned this one around.

16:00 BST - Away from England and into Scotland, Celtic are cruising with a 2-0 lead at home to Kilmarnock while Hearts are one up against Hibernian in the Edinburgh derby.

15:55 BST - Time for a breather in three of the four Premier League games this afternoon.

Manchester United trail 1-0 at home to Brentford and were jeered off the pitch by their own supporters, while Burnley and Chelsea are level at 1-1. Everton are sitting comfortably with a 2-0 lead against Bournemouth.

The final match of the afternoon - Fulham v Sheffield United - is still in progress with 14 minutes of additional time as a result of a nasty ankle injury sustained by Blades defender Chris Basham. Both sides remain goalless.

15:40 BST - Everton double their lead against Bournemouth and what a goal it is. Jack Harrison with a peach on the half-volley to give the Toffees some breathing room.

15:30 BST - Manchester United trail! Brentford take the lead at Old Trafford through Mathias Jensen after a giveaway by Casemiro and a miscued clearance from Victor Lindelof.

15:17 BST - Burnley lead against Chelsea! Eighteen-year-old forward Wilson Odobert puts the Clarets ahead with a driven shot into the corner.

15:12 BST - The first goal of the afternoon is in and Everton have opened the scoring against Bournemouth through James Garner. That's the start Sean Dyche will have been looking for.

A miserable afternoon for Sunderland in the Championship, though, suffering a 4-0 drubbing at home in the Tees-Wear derby to Middlesbrough.

13:45 BST - GOAL! The 10 men of Spurs open the scoring through defender Micky van de Ven, who slots home coolly after some super play down the byline from James Maddison.

13:35 BST - In the early Championship game, it's 0-0 between Sunderland and Middlesbrough. The Black Cats were dealt a blow when they were reduced to 10 men shortly before half-time when Daniel Neill was shown a second yellow card.

13:25 BST - The whistle sounds for half-time at Kenilworth Road and while it is goalless between Luton and Tottenham, plenty has happened in between.

Here are the stats at the break.

Half-time stats
Half-time statsFlashscore

13:30 BST - Tottenham are down to 10 men! Yves Bissouma - already on a yellow card - receives a second for simulation and you have to say it is completely deserved.

Spurs have had the majority of the play but are now a man light, which could now give Luton a huge boost.

13:12 BST - Luton think they have the lead but it looks like it's going to be chalked off! Tom Lockyer heads in a bizarre rebound from a looping ball but the goal is disallowed for a push in the build-up. That's a warning for Spurs...

13:00 BST - Over halfway through the opening period between Luton and Tottenham and the score is still deadlocked, much to the visitors' frustration.

Spurs have created a shedload of chances with two of the best falling to Richarlison, who was unable to convert either. Luton have hung in there though and have grown into it.

12:25 BST - Almost set to go at Kenilworth Road between Luton and Tottenham in the first Premier League fixture of the day.

And finally in Spain, Real Madrid host Osasuna and Sevilla play Rayo Vallecano.

07:00 BST - Not as packed as last weekend's eight-match Premier League schedule, but there are still six games to dig into today.
