Former Napoli boss Luciano Spalletti named Italy's new manager
The Tuscan coach and Gabriele Gravina, the Italian football federation's president, have reached a final agreement.
Spalletti will take up the position of Italy's manager as of September 1st.
An official presentation will take place at Coverciano in the days before the Azzurri will take on North Macedonia and Ukraine.
Spalletti will take Roberto Mancini's place, five days after the the former Manchester City coach's resignation.
Gravina's words
"We welcome Spalletti," said FIGC president Gravina. "The national team needed a great coach and I am very happy that he has accepted the technical guidance of the Azzurri.
"His enthusiasm and competence will be fundamental for the challenges that await Italy in the coming months."
