Erling Haaland's stunning form continued on Wednesday as the 22-year-old scored a first-half brace against Copenhagen in the Champions League. The Norweigan striker hit a hat-trick on his top-flight European debut for Salzburg and became the first teenager to score in five consecutive matches in the tournament. But how many will he score for Manchester City?

Here, we take a look at the current goalscoring records in the Champions League to see how many he will need to top the charts.

Lionel Messi was imperious for Barcelona in the Champions League and netted 120 times for the club he joined as a 13-year-old, winning the tournament four times.

Messi left Barcelona for PSG in the summer of 2021, but his goal against Maccabi Haifa the following season etched his name in the record books as he became the only player to have scored in 18 consecutive editions of the competition.
