IOC could soon recognise 'clean and correct' boxing federation
"We are very confident," he said, last week at the Sports Committee of the German Bundestag. "I believe that clear conditions will prevail in three months, at the latest."
World Boxing was founded in April with the aim of securing the Olympic future of boxing, after it was called into question because of ongoing issues with the International Boxing Association (IBA), under the leadership of Umar Kremlev.
Müller assumes the IBA, which has been suspended by the IOC since 2019, "will no longer receive recognition in the long-term. Therefore, the new world federation has a huge opportunity to take over in a democratic, clean and correct way".
The new federation is "properly registered and fully operational" in Switzerland, he added.
All 205 international federations have already received the documents for entry.
