The Leicester City striker, who was named in England’s World Cup squad earlier this week, opened the scoring for the Foxes against West Ham at the London Stadium on Saturday.
But the 25-year-old went down off the ball a short time later and was seen clutching his knee before receiving on-field treatment.
He was withdrawn after it was decided he could no longer carry on, but didn't appear to be in any pain.
Leicester went on to win the match 2-0 with Maddison later confirming the injury "isn't too bad".
In a relief to England manager Gareth Southgate, the Twitter message read: "Another win & another goal. Perfect way to finish before the break. Injury isn’t too bad! A small problem that was causing a bit of soreness. Can’t wait to meet up with the lads Monday."
