Arsenal's match against Leeds United at Elland Road was stopped shortly after kick-off due to a power cut, with players from both teams walking back down the tunnel.

In a statement posted on Leeds United's official Twitter account, Sunday's Premier League fixture was "temporarily suspended after a power cut [caused] issues with the referee's communications systems."

It is understood referee Chris Kavanagh lost communication with the video assistant referee officials, with goalline technology also going down.

The game at Elland Road kicked-off at 2pm with Kavanagh pausing the match 23 seconds later.

After speaking to Leeds United manager Jesse Marsch and Arsenal's Mikel Arteta, Kavanagh took the decision to suspend the game and both teams walked down the tunnel.

Players and officials returned to the pitch 20 minutes later and the game resumed at 2.40pm.

Premier League leaders Arsenal have the chance to move four points clear with a win, ahead of Manchester City who visit Liverpool later in the day.
