Liverpool star Virgil van Dijk faces 'weeks' on sidelines
Virgil van Dijk has sustained a hamstring injury that could reportedly keep him out of action for 'weeks' at Liverpool.
The Reds' stalwart was hooked off at half-time against Brentford in the Premier League earlier this week with his leg tightly wrapped.
According to the Times, Van Dijk now faces a 'spell' on the sidelines as the defender's injury is 'worse than first feared'.
It is unclear exactly how long the Liverpool star will be out of action, often the case with fresh injuries, but journalists close to club have speculated numerous 'weeks'.
Liverpool face Wolves in the FA Cup this coming weekend, but Van Dijk will not be involved.
The defender now faces a race to be fit for the Reds' clash with Brighton in the Premier League on January 14th.
