Martin Svidersky, who recently left Manchester United for Almeria in Spain, has spoken to Flashscore about his time in England.

The 20-year-old joined Man Utd in 2018, initially as part of the U16s, but was forced to wait for clearance and suffered an injury shortly after.

Svidersky signed his first professional contract with the Premier League giants in 2020, kick-starting his career with the club's U23s.

The Slovakian spent two further years with Man Utd before leaving England behind for a fresh break in Spain with Almeria.

"I experienced a lot of nice moments in Manchester, but also difficult moments," Svidersky told Flashscore.sk's Peter Zember. "They definitely strengthened me and taught me a lot. I tried to use every second.

"It's true that I didn't manage to fulfil my dream - I was very close, but chose a different path. I prioritised personal development over 'fame'. I met great people who I have stayed in touch with, also my second parents from Manchester, who have already come to visit me in Spain."

"Time in England I see it as a huge experience that brought me more positives than negatives," Svidersky continued. "I learned from the difficult days and I draw from that experience now. From injuries, through operations, to the captain's armband."

Svidersky, a Slovakia U21 international, is yet to make his debut for Almeria, but may soon be handed a chance to prove himself on the big stage.

Almeria will host Celta Vigo in La Liga this coming weekend.
