Manchester City have completed the signing of Argentina U20 midfielder Maximo Perrone for £8.2 million.
The 20-year-old Argentinian midfielder moves to the Etihad Stadium from Velez Sarsfield on a five-and-half-year deal.
Perrone made his debut for Velez in March 2022 and featured in 33 games in total, scoring three times with two assists.
It is expected the young midfielder will join up with his new teammates after the completion of the U20 South American Championship in Colombia, where he is currently representing Argentina.
The starlet becomes the latest in a successful line of City acquisitions from the continent, following in the footsteps of 22-year-old World Cup winner Julian Alvarez, who arrived at the Etihad in the summer from River Plate.
