Mbappe's king-size contract: The largest in the history of sport
After we reported a few days ago that Kylian Mbappé was not comfortable with his role at PSG and could be looking to leave the club in the next winter market, French newspaper Le Parisien has given more details about the mega-contract of the France attacker.
If Bondy native decides to stay at his current club until 2025, he would make a total of €630m, distributed as follows: €72m per campaign would correspond to salary; a renewal bonus of €180m to be paid in three instalments; and three fidelity payments depending on how long he lasts at PSG; €70m if he doesn't leave in 2023, €80m if he doesn't leave in 2024 and €90m if he stays beyond 2025.
It is by far the largest contract signed in the entire history of the sport. In addition, it is the second shortest - three years - after the one signed by boxer Floyd Mayweather (45) - 30 months and six fights - with the Showtime network in 2013, a huge economic effort by the Parisiens.
Behind Mbappé and Messi, almost all the athletes who follow them are North American stars with commitments of more than 10 years with their clubs or franchises who enter high positions in this particular ranking.
