Monk throws headbutt at board after surviving match dart
English darts star Arron Monk surprised fans at the UK Open with an emotional display after weathering a metaphorical storm in his first-round clash.
The 32-year-old old was up against Denmark's Vladimir Andersen - a match-up Monk eventually won 6-5.
Monk was clearly disappointed with his overall performance and aimed a headbutt at the board to vent his frustration or perhaps celebrate.
After shaking hands with Andersen, the Englishman collected his darts and mimed a headbutt toward the board, missing it by just a couple of inches.
The crowd collectively moved from gentle applause to a soft chuckle after Monk's post-match theatrics.
Monk moved into the next round and took on Robbie Knops, but it was the Belgian who later claimed victory 6-0.
