18:13 BST - Team GB are into the final of the women's team sprint after breaking their own world record in the heats, setting a time of 45.338!

It rounds off an incredible run of record breaks, with Germany first breaking the time earlier set by Great Britain, before New Zealand then broke that and then Team GB broke it for a third time in 10 minutes.

In case you were wondering, the track in Paris is wider than the ones used in the past meaning teams can generate more momentum on their way through the race - hence several world records in one go!

18:00 BST - There's another opportunity for a medal this evening for Team GB, with Keely Hodgkinson taking on the women's 800m final at 20:47.

Away from that is the beginning of the men's 200m races and the semi-final of the women's 200m, as well as plenty more cycling with the heats for the women's team sprint currently underway - world record holders Great Britain are due to compete in five minutes!

17:57 BST - Team GB's women are out of the hockey tournament, losing 3-1 to the Dutch in the quarter-finals.

Even after taking off their goalkeeper and going with 11 outfield players, the British didn't have enough to reach the final four.

17:04 BST - It looks like the job is done for Team GB's men's pursuit riders who sit top of qualification, setting a time of 3:43.241 with five teams left to race.

The British cyclists are currently four seconds ahead of anyone else and have confirmed a spot in the next round.

16:30 BST - Time for the women's hockey quarter-finals now, with Team GB taking on the Netherlands as they hunt for a spot in the final four.

The men's cycling team pursuit qualification is also underway.

16:20 BST - World record for Team GB! Their women's cycling team sprinters set a time of 45.472 to qualify for the next round of the event, smashing the competition in the process. It will take another record for anyone to leapfrog them in the current standings.

Away from British competition, Simone Biles is set to challenge for another two gymnastics gold medals shortly, first in the women's beam final and then the floor exercise. She has a total of 7 gold medals at the Olympics and could become the joint-most decorated female Olympian of all time with another two today.

10:25 BST - Both Alastair Chalmers and Jessie Knight have qualified for the next rounds of the men's and women's 400m hurdles races!

09:07 BST - After a review, Team GB's medal has been downgraded to a bronze - USA will take the silver.

07:00 BST - Just for reference, a triathlon relay isn't quite four full triathlons but four super sprint formats, with competitors swimming 300m, cycling 7km and then running 1.8km.

06:58 BST - First up for Team GB this morning is the mixed relay triathlon at 07:00, with medal heroes Alex Yee and Bether Potter competing alongside Sam Dickinson and Georgia Taylor-Brown.
