21:53 BST - Just a few moments ago, Uganda's Joshua Cheptegei withstood Ethiopian team tactics to claim gold in the men's Olympic 10,000m at the Stade de France.

21:05 BST - Britain have been beaten by Germany in the men's hockey, but still reach quarter-finals.

Team GB will take on India in the quarters on Sunday.

20:54 BST - Nightmare for GB's Beth Shriever! She got off to a bad start and was unable to recover. Australia's Saya Sakakibara claims the gold.

20:40 BST - Coming up just before the hour mark, Team GB's Beth Shriever will be taking part in the BMX racing final.

She's the defending champion and made short work of her peers in the qualifiers tonight.

20:03 BST - Novak Djokovic, of Serbia, has beaten Italian Lorenzo Musetti 6-4, 6-2 to set up a mouth-watering men's singles final with Spain's Carlos Alcaraz!

19:53 BST - Duncan Scott has claimed a silver medal in Paris! To the joy of locals in the crowd, Leon Marchand picked up the gold - his fourth of these Games!

China's Wang Shun got the bronze.

19:36 BST - Team GB's Ben Proud has won the silver in the men's 50m freestyle final. Breathless! That was a close one.

Australian Cameron McEvoy wins gold, 0.05 seconds ahead of Proud, while France's Florent Manaudou claims bronze.

19:33 BST - It's fourth for Zak Perzamanos in the men's trampoline final. An impressive effort to be proud of, but not enough for the podium.

Ivan Litvinovich, of Belarus, took first, with Chinese duo Wang Zisai and Yan Langyu in second and third respectively.

19:15 BST - Keely Hodgkinson takes first in the fourth heat of the first round of the women's 800m! An impressive showing from the Brit, but that's no surprise. She's into the semis, which take place on Sunday.

19:11 BST - Zak Perzamanos has just scored 59.840 in the men's trampoline final. It's a good score, but now we have to wait to see if it's good enough for a medal...

19:06 BST - 17-year-old Phoebe Gill has just took third in the third heat of the first round of the women's 800m! She's through to the semi-finals.

18:49 BST - Jemma Reekie takes first! That's her through to the women's 800m semi-finals, with relative ease.

18:44 BST - Team GB's Phoebe Gill, Jemma Reekie and Keely Hodgkinson, who has been tipped for a medal, are about to get underway in the first round of the women's 800m.

18:42 BST - Zak Perzamanos has indeed qualified for the men's trampoline final. Can he follow in the footsteps of compatriot Bryony Page?

18:08 BST - In the men's football, Spain cruised to a comfortable 3-0 win over Japan to set up a semi-final meeting with Morocco.

17:57 BST - Britain's Zak Perzamanos has just scored 58.800 in the men's trampoline qualifiers, which takes him top - at least for now - and surely puts him in the final.

17:18 BST - French judo legend Teddy Riner continues to add to his legacy, beating South Korea's Kim Min-jong in the men's 100kg+ final.

It's his fourth-ever Olympic gold medal. Uzbekistan's Alisher Yusupov took bronze.

16:48 BST - Team GB’s Zak Perzamanos will be in action in the next 10 minutes or so, looking for a spot in the men’s turn for trampoline final.

16:38 BST - Tommy Fleetwood, Hideki Matsuyama and Xander Schauffele all share the lead (-11) after the opening two rounds in the men's golf event, and with several high-profile names still within touching distance, it promises to be an exciting weekend at Le Golf National.

16:11 BST - In women's boxing, Taiwain's Lin Yu-ting has beaten Sitora Turdibekova of Uzbekistan on points after three rounds.

16:05 BST - Gold for China in badminton mixed doubles! An enthralling contest between the Chinese and South Korea, an impressive duo, who settle for silver in the final. Japan take bronze.

15:26 BST - Tennis world number one Iga Swiatek has easily beaten Anna Karolina Schmiedlova 6-2, 6-1 to clinch the bronze medal at the Olympics. Perhaps not what she desired after coming into Paris as the heavy favourite, but at least she is going away with something.

14:48 BST - Here's a look at the updated medal table as we near the end of the first week of the Paris Olympics - Team GB are well in the mix after a record-breaking seven days!

14:42 BST - It's the ninth gold at the Paris Olympics for Team GB! Their equestrians win the team jumping event with a series of emphatic runs!

They're up to third in the overall standings after what is looking to be a record opening week for Great Britain at the Olympics.

14:30 BST - Spain's Carlos Alcaraz is into the men's Olympics tennis final after easily beating Canada's Felix Auger-Aliassime 6-1, 6-1.

He will face either Novak Djokovic or Lorenzo Musetti in the final showpiece - their semi-final is due to be played later this evening.

14:25 BST - Get the full report from Bryony Page's win in the women's trampolining here - she becomes Team GB's first gymnastics medallist at Paris 2024.

14:18 BST - Team GB are on the verge of another gold in the equestrian team jumping final, with the final round underway in Paris.

13:20 BST - Gold for Bryony Page! She only qualified in fifth but put in the performance of her life to win Team GB's first gymnastics medal in Paris.

13:18 BST - What a performance from Bryony Page! She scores an impressive 56.48 to put her in first place with one gymnast left to go - she is guaranteed at least silver!

12:55 BST - The equestrian team jumping final is getting underway in five minutes, presenting another chance for Team GB to pick up a medal! Ben Maher, Harry Charles and Scott Brash make up the British team.

The women's trampoline final is also underway now, with Bryony Page representing Great Britain.

12:38 BST - No medal for Team GB in the men's skiff race - they finish in seventh place over a day after the race was initially meant to begin.

11:38 BST - Next up for Team GB medal-wise is the men's sailing skiff final at  12:13 - rescheduled from yesterday after it was abandoned twice due to poor wind conditions.

The women's iQFOiL final follows that at 14:33, while Britain also have a shot at equestrian gold in the team jumping event at 13:00.

11:33 BST - Team GB win gold in the women's lightweight double sculls rowing! A superb race from Emily Craig and Imogen Grant sees them take first place by a decent margin.

That's the last time lightweight rowing will take place at an Olympic Games, meaning Craig and Grant are permanent Olympic champions!

11:30 BST - Dina Asher-Smith comes second in her heat which means all three of Team GB's women's 100m sprinters have progressed to the next round.

11:16 BST - Imani Lansiquot also qualifies for the next round in the women's 100m, coming third in her heat.

11:13 BST - We also won't have a break on the medal front with the women's lightweight double sculls coming up. Emily Craig and Imogen Grant representing Great Britain in that one, set to begin at 11:22.

11:07 BST - No time for rest in Paris; we move across to the women's 100m qualifying heats where Team GB have three athletes: Daryll Neita - who has just won her race with the fastest time of the day so far - Imani Lansiquot and Dina Asher-Smith.

11:06 BST - Harding and Laugher win bronze for Britain in the men's 3m synchronised diving! China of course win gold - as they have in every diving event so far - and Mexico take the silver.

That's four medals from four events for Team GB's divers so far - impressive stuff off the boards.

10:50 BST - Back over to the diving now, where Team GB have just produced a huge score to put them into second on the leaderboard - they're seven points off the gold with one round left.

10:37 BST - It's silver for Great Britain in the men's pair rowing event as they miss out in the final strokes to Croatia - agonisingly close to gold for Team GB.

10:28 BST - Britain's divers have themselves in a great position for a medal midway through the diving after mistakes from the USA and China, but for now we'll head over the the rowing pair final; then back to our divers!

10:08 BST - Team GB will also have a chance for more medals in the men's pair rowing at 10:30 - we'll bring you updates on that event as well with childhood friends Tom George and Ollie Wynne-Griffith racing for Great Britain.

10:00 BST - Time for the men's 3m springboard synchronised diving final! Team GB's divers have a while to wait as they go seventh, but that also means they will know the scores they need to get for the best shot at a medal.

09:15 BST - Team GB's Morgan Lake is set to get Britain's athletics action underway for the day in the women's high jump qualification, which begins right now!

Anthony Harding and Jack Laugher are then in medal action in the men's 3m springboard synchronised diving at 10:00.

07:50 BST - The second round of the men's golf gets underway in around 10 minutes, with Team GB's Tommy Fleetwood and Matthew Fitzpatrick in action across the day. 

Elsewhere, there are plenty of other sports without British competitors to keep an eye on including shooting, basketball and judo - all of which can be followed with our daily schedule.
