21:16 BST - Seventeen-year-old Summer McIntosh claimed her second gold medal of the Paris Olympics on Thursday as she fended off a strong field in the women's 200-metre butterfly final.

She touched the wall in an Olympic record time of 2:03.03 at La Defense Arena, 0.81 seconds ahead of American silver medallist Regan Smith.

China's Zhang Yufei took the bronze.

20:38 BST - It's all over and despite the British pair threatening another Houdini act late on, the Americans triumph 6-2 6-4.

It means the end of a remarkable career for one of the all-time greats of tennis: Andy Murray.

Read more on his final farewell here.

20:17 BST - Andy Murray and Dan Evans are up against it but fighting to the end against American duo Tommy Paul and Taylor Fritz.

19:31 BST - It's another stunning gold for Simon Biles, who scores 15.066 for the floor routine with an overall score of 59.131.

The silver goes to Brazil's Rebeca Andrade and the bronze to USA's Sunisa Lee.

18:10 BST - Both GB gymnasts have made a solid start to the women's all-around final, sitting ninth and 11th respectively after two disciplines.

The USA's Biles finds herself comfortably in the top three with more still to come over the next hour or so.

17:12 BST - It's a fifth-placed finish for Clarke in the canoe slalom final, finishing 1.6 seconds behind gold medalist Giovanni De Gennaro of Italy.

16:58 BST - The men's canoe slalom finals are well underway now, with Team GB's Clarke still to race in about 15 minutes.

We'll also have the women's all-around gymnastics finals shortly, with the USA's Simone Biles in action as well as Britain's Georgia-Mae Fenton and Alice Kinsella.

16:49 BST - It's official, the sailing has been cancelled for the day due to light winds down on the French Riviera. We go again tomorrow.

16:30 BST - Britain's 2016 Olympic champion Joe Clarke led the way in the men's canoe single semi-finals on Thursday, completing a flawless run in a time of 89.51 seconds that will see him go out last in the final later on.

With the semi-final trimming the field down from 20 to 12 for the final, the racers descended the 23-gate course at the Vaires-sur-Marne Nautical Stadium, including six gates that had to be taken upstream, as fast as they could.

Here are the top eight from qualifying.

16:09 BST - If you don't laugh, you'd cry in Marseille as the men's skiff sailors have tried twice to get the medal race completed and for the second time - both at the same point - the race has been abandoned. They will keep trying to get a race on, but it isn't looking good.

15:43 BST - Speaking of Alcaraz, he has just booked his spot in the men's singles semi-finals after defeating America's Tommy Paul 6-3, 7-6(9-7)

15:27 BST - Carlos Alcaraz and Rafael Nadal's vanquishers in the men's doubles event at Roland Garros, Rajeev Ram and Austin Krajicek, are through to the final after a 6-2, 6-2 victory over Czech Republic's Tomas Machac and Adam Pavlasek.

14:55 BST - Still no word on the sailing final restarting and it's pretty quiet all around for Team GB at the moment.

Tommy Fleetwood has had a decent day in the opening round of the men's golf tournament, finding himself in the top 10 after scoring four-under-par. Matthew Fitzpatrick hasn't fared as well so far after hitting just one under par.

Get a full report from today's golf action here.

14:02 BST - Wow! In a moment rarely seen before, the sailing final has been abandoned midway through due to high winds and will now reset ahead of a second run when the conditions improve.

It looks like a bit of a blessing for Great Britain, who didn't have the best of starts to the race. We'll bring you updates when the race restarts.

12:30 BST - Be sure to keep track of this afternoon's action with our daily schedule available here.

11:35 BST - We'll be covering the men's tennis singles quarter-finals and the women's semi-finals - as well as Murray and Evans' doubles match later this afternoon.

Britain also have plenty of swim heats still to come today, both hockey teams are to play this afternoon, while there are also plenty of sailing, archery and canoe events to come.

Team GB next have a shot at a medal in the men's sailing at around 13:45, before the women's individual all-around gymnastics finals this evening at 17:15 and the women's 200m butterfly swim finals at 19:30.

11:16 BST - Great Britain take the bronze medal in the men's four! They recover well after a poor start to take third place and make it three medals from three in this morning's rowing events for Great Britain.

The USA win the gold while New Zealand pick up the silver medal - a great race all round.

11:11 BST - It's a poor start for Team GB in the men's four - they need to make up ground quickly for a shot at a medal.

11:02 BST - Our final medal event of the morning is up next, as the men tackle the rowing's four event in around 10 minutes.

10:54 BST - Britain's women's rowers are unbeaten in the four event in 2024 and look in good shape midway through the Olympic finals - can they pip the Dutch to gold?

10:48 BST - It's time for the women's fours now and another shot at a medal for Team GB!

Earlier on in the men's double sculls, Ireland secured themselves a bronze medal after a superb race from Philip Doyle and Daire Lynch.

10:27 BST - Bronze for Team GB in the women's double sculls! Mathilda Hodgkins-Byrne and Becky Wilde take third place for Great Britain, with New Zealand winning the gold and Romania picking up the silver.

09:35 BST - It's a bit of a lighter day on the medal front for Team GB, with their next shot at gold coming in the women's rowing double sculls at 10:18 followed by the women's four at 10:50 and the men's four at 11:10.

There are also plenty of competitors in action this morning in various heats or rounds of their sport, not yet in the medal events.

Emma Reid has just lost her last-32 Judo bout against Yoon Hyun-ji of South Korea, while swimming heats begin at around 10:00 - with Honey Osrin and Katie Shanahan taking part in the women's 200m backstroke while Ben Proud and Alex Cohoon tackle the men's 50m freestyle.

08:24 BST - It's a respectable 16th-placed finish for Wilkinson in the men's walking event. Brian Pintado of Ecuador takes the gold.

08:08 BST - Today's golf has also just begun, with the first tee-off at 08:00.

Tommy Fleetwood and Matthew Fitzpatrick are representing Team GB, although they won't get started until 08:44 and 11:06 respectively.

Englishman Fleetwood has fond memories of Le Golf National after his Ryder Cup success there in 2018 and has admitted he hopes to replicate those heroics - read more here.

08:05 BST - We've just hit the 15km mark in the men's 20km walk, with Britain's Wilkinson dropping away from the leading pack. He trails first place by around 30 seconds and a medal looks unlikely at this point.

Be sure to look at our highlights piece ahead of day six here, detailing all the biggest events for the day in Paris.
