Night!

23:00 BST - Nadal, Biles, Murray, Peaty, Marchand, Huske - it's been a big day of big names at the Games in Paris.

Catch up on all the action from day two here.

21:50 BST - Andy Murray said "pride and pressure" kept his tennis career alive at the Olympics on Sunday when he and partner Dan Evans saved five match points in their opening doubles match.

"I felt fine this morning. I was a bit nervous but I didn't feel terrible," said Murray as he looked back on what could have been his final day as a tennis player.

"As the match started I was feeling it a bit, I was aware of the situation but I still have some pride, I want to perform well.

"There is always pressure playing for your country at the Olympics. You want that pressure and if I didn't feel that, then I shouldn't be here."

21:14 BST - An emotional Adam Peaty told the BBC he was crying "happy tears."

"I'm so happy that I can race against the best in the world and still come joint-second," the Team GB swimming legend said.

"In my heart I have won, these are happy tears. I gave my absolute best every single day and I cannot be upset about that.

"I'm almost an older man here now. I can't have that relentless pursuit every single day without a sacrifice of some sort - they come in every single form.

"It's very hard to compete with the younger ones, so I'm very happy with that."

20:54 BST - Bit of a shock as Italy's Nicolo Martinenghi steals the gold in the 100m breaststroke.

Adam Peaty charged late but was pipped at the last by 0.200s of a second. Peaty shares a split silver with American Nic Fink, both coming in at exactly the same time of 59.05 seconds.

20:34 BST - We are moments away now from Adam Peaty's Olympic title defence in the men's 100m breaststroke.

Can he win a third in a row?

20:26 BST - More good news from the pool for Team GB as Angharad Evans has qualified for the women's 100m breaststroke.

20:03 BST - Team GB's Matthew Richards and Duncan Scott (who qualified second fastest) have both safely navigated their way into the men's 200m freestyle.

19:48 BST - Home hero Leon Marchand has produced a stunning display in the men's 400m medley, setting a new Olympic record with 4.02.95 en route to his first gold medal of this Games.

Team GB's Max Litchfield broke the British record but narrowly missed out on a podium place, finishing fourth.

19:40 BST - It's all over, and somehow, some way, despite facing five match points in the third set tiebreak, Andy Murray's career on the courts continues as he and Dan Evans dig deep to beat Japan's Taro Daniel and Kei Nishikori 6-2, 6-7, 9-11.

Just two seconds or so off the leader, 96.08 seconds set by Australia's Jessica Fox. Tight margins.

15:36 BST - Unfortunately, it wasn't to be for Katie Boulter in the women's singles as she lost in the first round 6-4 6-2 to Anna Karolina Schmiedlova of Slovakia.

Meanwhile, the rugby sevens women's team have claimed a big scalp with a 21-12 victory over a fancied Ireland.

The bronze went to Italy's Paolo Monna.

09:26 BST - There has been a notable withdrawal in the men's singles tennis, with Australia's Alex de Minaur failing to recover in time after picking up a hip injury at Wimbledon earlier this month.
