Portugal's Joao Felix reportedly set to sign for Chelsea on loan
Joao Felix is close to heading to the Premier League, and may see his departure from Atletico Madrid to Chelsea confirmed in the coming days.
A loan running to the end of the season has been proposed, with Romano claiming "the agreement is in its final stages" and that there is no option make the deal permanent.
Chelsea boss Graham Potter is under increased pressure after a tough start to life in the hot seat at Stamford Bridge, with fans recently singing the name of former boss Thomas Tuchel during their humbling 4-0 defeat to Manchester City in the FA Cup.
For the loan, the Blues will reportedly pay around €10 million, and negotiations have advanced in recent hours.
According to reports, Manchester United and Arsenal both held discussions with Felix's agent Jorge Mendes. Both clubs, however, considered the loan to be too expensive.
The Athletic's David Ornstein also reports Felix believes in the project Chelsea is building under the new ownership of American businessman Todd Boehly, despite the recent poor run of form which saw the Blues drop down to 10th in the Premier League.
Chelsea have already signed defender Benoit Badiashile from Monaco and young forward David Datro Fofana from Molde during the January transfer window.
