After being away for nearly two months, the Premier League returned on Boxing Day and games have been played out a staggering rate ever since.

With the return of the Premier League also comes the return of Flashscore's Team of the Week.

Due to the high frequency of games over the last 10 days, the selection this time around will be based off of the best performers across that time frame - rather than from one specific game.

GK - Bernd Leno (Fulham)

Fewer sides have come back from the World Cup break in better shape than Fulham, with Marco Silva's side winning all three of their games over the festive period.

A big contributor to this was Leno who made eight saves and kept two clean sheets - continuing to prove his worth between the sticks.

DEF - Kieran Trippier (Newcastle United)

It will come as no surprise that the best defence in the league have picked up right where they left off, with Newcastle keeping clean sheets in all three of their games since fixtures resumed.

Trippier played a big part in their solidarity and also provided an assist in their 3-0 victory against Leicester City.

DEF - Sven Botman (Newcastle United)

A second defender from the Magpies, Botman has been equally important to their rock-solid defence.

The Dutchman has been one of the best defenders in the league since his arrival and is still yet to be on the losing side whenever he has played.

DEF - Luke Shaw (Manchester United)

Injuries and players having extended breaks after the World Cup meant Manchester United had to field a make-shift defence over the last few games, including Shaw having to play at centre back alongside Raphael Varane.

The Englishman was excellent in all three games - albeit being reverted to leftback in their latest encounter against Bournemouth - helping United keep three clean sheets and even contributing with a goal against the Cherries.

MID - Solly March (Brighton)

Brighton look ready to finally push on under Roberto De Zerbi, with the Seagulls starting to convert some of the many chances the create.

March netted twice in three games and provided one assist with the winger finally adding the end product his game had been lacking before the World Cup.

MID - Christian Norgaard (Brentford)

Brentford have picked up some impressive results in the Premier League this season and continued their fine form during the festive period.

The Bees drew 2-2 with Tottenham Hotspur and beat Liverpool 3-1, as well as defeating West Ham 2-0.

Norgaard provided an assist in all three matches with rival fans starting to take notice of the Danish midfielder's ability.

MID - Joao Palhinha (Fulham)

Another player that has impressed throughout the campaign is Palhinha.

The Portuguese midfielder was at the centre of Fulham's fine festive period and helped them to three impressive victories with his defesnive work.

He also netted the winner in their 2-1 triumph against Southampton.

MID - Martin Odegaard (Arsenal)

Perhaps the one of the most in-form players in the league at the moment, Odegaard provided three assists and scored once in Arsenal's last three games.

The Norwegian's creativity helped the Gunners maintain the form they were showing prior to the World Cup break.

His performances have seen him nominated for a joint November/December Player of the Month award.

FWD - Riyad Mahrez (Manchester City)

City returned to Premier League action with two wins over Leeds and Chelsea but could only draw against a struggling Everton side.

Mahrez was influential in all of the games - particulalry in both wins - setting up two goals and scoring one of his own.

FWD - Harry Kane (Tottenham Hotspur)

While Spurs' return to action has been rather lacklustre - winning just one of their three matches - Kane has picked up exactly where he left off before international duty.

The striker scored three times across the festive period which takes his Premier League total to 15 for the season.

FWD - Marcus Rashford (Manchester United)

Rashford also scored three goals across the last 10 days, helping United to crucial victories against Nottingham Forest, Wolves and Bournemouth.

His form will be essential to Erik Ten Hag's side maintaining their current momentum, with the Red Devils sat fourth in the league table with a game in hand on Newcastle who are third.
