World number one Gerwyn Price was eliminated from the PDC Darts World Championships on Sunday night after losing 5-1 to lower ranked Gabriel Clemens.

The two players were battling for a spot in the semi-finals, with Clemens coming out on top in a surprisingly straightforward encounter.

Price was once again at odds with the crowd and came out after the break wearing ear defenders to avoid being put off by their taunts - albeit to no avail as he won just one set.

Victory puts Clemens into a semi-final tie against Michael Smith.

Smith beat Stephen Bunting 5-3 earlier in the day on Sunday.

The other match in the penultimate round sees Michael van Gerwen take on Dimitri Van den Bergh after both players won their respective quarter-final games.

Van Gerwen crusied to a 5-0 triumph against Chris Dobey, while Van den Bergh came out on top with a 5-3 win against Jonny Clayton.
