Rangers have claimed a point away at St Mirren after coming back from 1-0 down, with James Tavernier to the rescue from the penalty spot late on.

It will be seen as yet more points dropped on the road by the Gers, though, bringing the new total to 10.

Following on from a quiet first-half, in which the Ibrox outfit dominated, the hosts took the lead shortly after the break against the run of play.

Jonah Ayunga fired a rebounded effort into the bottom right-corner of Rangers' net in the 47th minute.

After a VAR review, the visitors were awarded a penalty in the 83rd minute - much to the joy of the Gers, who had protested a foul.

Tavernier made no mistake from the spot a moment later, to level the score at and rescue a point.

Ryan Kent was close to snatching a win for Rangers in additional time, but goalkeeper Trevor Carson was equal to the effort.

With another disappointing result on the board, pressure on Giovanni van Bronckhorst grows.
