Premier League reflects
There were only seven Premier League matches held this weekend due to the postponements caused by the recent death of the Queen Elizabeth II, but games that went ahead showed their respects by joining a national moment of reflection prior to kick-off:
Fulham stun Forest
In just six second-half minutes Fulham tore through Forest and scored three times as they came from 1-0 down to win 3-2. Joao Palhinha (27), Aleksandar Mitrovic (28), Andreas Pereira (26) and Harrison Read (27) were stand-out performers as Marco Silva’s team pushed their way into the top 10 and continue to prove pre-season doubters wrong:
Ethan Nwaneri etches name in history
Arsenal’s youth academy is bursting with talent but one player has suddenly risen to the fore. Ethan Nwaneri is just 15 years old and already a regular with the U18s, making his debut for the club in May. But the schoolboy made a historic introduction to life in the Premier League by becoming its youngest-ever player against Brentford:
Throwing shade
Arsenal suffered a shambolic 2-0 defeat at Brentford last season with Bees striker Ivan Toney (26) later rubbing salt in the wound by describing the match as a “nice kick about with the boys”.
Fast-forward 12 months and it’s Brentford on the receiving end of a thrashing – and the opportunity for Arsenal defender Gabriel Magalhaes (24) to throw shade towards the England new boy:
Haaland does it again
We’re running out of superlatives for City’s 22-year-old striker. The Norwegian became the first Premier League player to score in four away games on the spin at the weekend to make it 14 goals in his first 10 appearances for his new team and 100 goals in 99 matches overall:
