Saudi Arabia ensured Mexico would follow them out of the World Cup by scoring late on in their 2-1 defeat to the Tricolor.

An unusual situation developed toward the end of the game, with Mexico 2-0 up and Poland 2-0 down to Argentina, but Salem Al Dawsari struck in additional time to put everything beyond doubt.

Prior to the Saudi strike, the Biało-czerwoni and Tricolor were tied on points and goal difference - with only number of bookings separating the two sides.
