World number five Judd Trump was knocked out of the Snooker World Championship in disappointing fashion, losing 10-6 to lower ranked opponent Anthony McGill.

Anthony McGill 10-6 Judd Trump

McGill caused an upset to reach the round of 16, beating Trump 10-6 at the Crucible.

Despite Trump going into an early 2-0 lead, his opponent fought back to bring the scores level before going on to win the match-up by four frames.

He will face Jack Lisowski in the round of 16.

Jack Lisowski 10-7 Noppon Saengkham

Lisowski was victorious in his match earlier in the day, beating Thai player Noppon Saengkham 10-7.

The Englishman was leading 9-4 and needed just one more frame to win the match, but almost squandered his lead with Saengkham brining the score back to 9-7.

Fortunately for Lisaowski, he won the following frame to ensure his progression to the round of 16.

Kyren Wilson 10-5 Ryan Day

World number seven Kyren Wilson was victorious in the final game of the day, beating Welshman Ryan Day 10-5.

Wilson made it through without too much trouble, winning four of the final five frames to ensure he made it to the next round.

He is set to face John Higgins in the round of 16.
